Buying on ebay - Get Your Item As Cheap As Possible

I have been buying and selling on ebay now for about 3 years and have come to learn that there are a few techniques to reduce the amount you pay for your auction item.

I will be short and to the point becuase nobody want to read massive paragraphs of text -

1) Contrary to popular thinking it is not best to bid on your item at the last minute, this is because the longer an item stays at a cheap price the more people will watch it and wait until the end to bid.

2) Get your maximum bid in early to increase the price of an item, this will put off the buyers who are looking for a cheap buy who may get lured into bidding at the end. It will also put off other buyers who will go to an item that is at a lower starting price.

3) Look for best offer items, this can save you £££ on items. Be careful though becuase you only get one offer, so if you are genuinely interested in the item dont be silly and make an offer of £30 on a £250 item. The guide is to reduce the item so that you would get free shipping or 10% - 15% of the item price which ever is greater......

A short guide i know but the information is useful and could save you a couple of quid.
