Buying toys from Hong Kong

Like if this guide is helpful

You've probably seen them popping up a lot, especially close to Christmas, istings of the most popular toys and amazingly cheap prices. Whilst the latest Minecraft or Frozen toys are flying off UK shelves, Hong Kong offers the chance to buy the item your child desires for a tenth of the price.

I am in no way against buying these items. I do, however have a little bit of advice:

Understand that you may not be receiving an officially merchandised product. Often the reason the items are so low is because they are replicas. You take a risk on whether they are good replicas or 'cheap knock offs'. They may not have the correct features of the original toys, such as the writing, size or quality.

Check the postage- often it takes 4-6 weeks to receive these products. Fine if you are patient, not so good if it's close to the date you need. Bear in mind that there is also a risk of an item being stuck at customs- you sometimes have to pay a surcharge- or in fact being lost in transit.

If you are looking for a cheaper, bargain product and you're not in a rush to receive it- then Hong Kong toys are the way to go!
