Chamois - A Size Guide

Our chamois leathers are measured in Square Feet (Sq Ft) rather than Feet Squared (Ft Sq or Ft2). This means that we give a total area size rather than a measurement of the height by the width. This is due to the varying shapes that chamois can be and is the best way of describing the size.

Our chamois is hand cut and shapes will vary. As you may have seen from pictures accompanying our listings they are not all square or rectangular. Hand cutting chamois allows for the best size and the best quality from a full skin.

Our chamois is measured on an independently calibrated digital system. We strictly adhere to the British Standards of measuring our leathers as prescribed by both the BLC Leather Technology Centre and the British Standard of Weights and Measures.

We understand that it can be difficult to imagine what size a chamois will be when given just the area measurement; this is why we have put as many pictures of example chamois laid flat with a 30cm ruler as a size reference.
