Stress is a major cause of hair loss and show strong correlation with low self-esteem, lower confidence and worry about your personal appearance.

There are several factors which contribute to hair loss for example, high levels of unnecessary stress, use of non-standard products on hair, chemical treatments like hair colours, over shampooing etc. however, some circumstances which lead to hair loss are beyond our control e.g. chemotherapy.

In all cases, hair loss has a serious impact on the self-esteem and self-confidence of people who start to witness hair loss.  Some people especially men would prefer to shave off their head however, when I started to lose my hair, I choose not to shave off my head as it never appealed to me and resorted to find some solution which could help me. I experimented with several things before settling with one concrete solution.  It was not the perfect solution but it has helped me cope for over 10 years now.  It has certainly helped me gain my self-esteem and confidence and I do not scare away from social life and adventure activities.

In this series, I am going to share my story and how best I cope up with hair loss.  I hope my coping strategies may be of some help to you too!
