It has probably been said many times before but since I have been scammed in my last two transactions, I feel it necesscary to have a rant, especially since I am relatively new to e-bay.

Before purchasing any item, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, check out your seller and not just their feedback. Make sure they have sold similar items to the ones that they are selling and make sure they know their stuff. Most budding DJs know about their equipment and if someone is selling to upgrade they should be fairly knowledable about the specs of their item..

Also beware of pictures posted from other sites. As I have found to my cost, the reason why this is done is because they don't actually have the item to sell!.

Go online and check out prices from a specialist DJ equipment retailer, of  the piece of equipment you are buying. If the item is going significantly cheaper than you have seen then read the description by the seller carefully as there may be a catch.

Finally always pay via Paypal and read their guide. If you do get scammed, your money will be protected.

This guide is for the green-gilled out there, as I once was. To the scammers out there, shame on you!. Get a life and stop ruining the name of e-bay. Hopefully kharma will one day redress the balance!
