CURTAIN MEASURING GUIDE

Before you start:

You will need:
Pen or pencil
Paper
Metal tape measure (cloth or plastic tape measures can stretch)
We recommend you use centimetres.

MEASURING WIDTH:
Measure the pole or track width.
If your track has a centre overlap you need to measure the overlap and add it to the track width.
This will give you the width of the curtains needed.
Eg: If your curtain pole measures 229cm you will need a 229cm wide pair of curtains

MEASURING DROP:
Measure from the bottom of the curtain ring if you have a curtain pole, or the top of a curtain track. If the pole or track has not been fitted then you should allow an additional 15cm to 20cm.
Curtains can be hung:
to the floor, we recommend you allow 1cm above the floor to ensure they do not drag
to a window sill, we recommend you allow 1cm above the sill to ensure they do not drag
to below the window sill, we recommend 15cm to 20cm below the window sill, if you have a radiator under your window we would recommend at least 2cm above the radiator.

Measure in 3 places and use the shortest measurement.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS
If your track has a centre overlap you need to measure the overlap and add it to the track width.
Measurements are for each curtain, so for a 229cm wide curtain both curtains will be 229cm wide, however you need to allow for the gathering of material which will reduce the curtain by upto half and therefore will fit half the window.
