Chocolate Biscuit Cake

When you are invited to a last minute party or need something to take to a bake sale, this is a quick, easy and inexpensive recipe loved by all. This recipe was taken from a very old book and I have been using it for years at every occasion and have been asked for the recipe many times so I hope it works as well for you.

200g biscuits (rich tea and digestive work best)
200g milk chocolate
100g salted butter
handful raisins
10ml honey
nuts (optional)

Blitz the biscuits and nuts (if using) in a food processor or bash with a rolling pin.
Melt 100g chocolate, butter and honey together until it forms a smooth mix.
Mix the chocolate mix and the biscuit mix together and add the raisins.
Spread into any mould or tray you like that has been lined with cling film as this makes it easier to get out.
Leave in the fridge to set.
Melt the remaining chocolate and pour over the cake making sure it is evenly covered.

Note: You can change this recipe as you want as it is easily adaptable. I have previously added mixed peel and glace cherries to the recipe or used a mixture of dark, milk and white chocolate or even flavoured chocolate such as orange. Have a play and see what your favourite is.
