Tip 1 ♥ If there is something you have your absolute heart set on but the retail price tag is a little out of your budget.. Wait. Once the hype of the new product/item has died down you can guarantee someone will be selling the item used or unused in a few weeks or months time. This is a rule I swear by. If I see something in store that I really want I'll add it to a wishlist and then keep checking Ebay until the item becomes available.
Tip 2 ♥ Buy clothes out of season. For example, I picked up a Topshop Onesie that was brand new with tags in July and ended up winning the item for 99p! I was on holiday in Falaraki at the item and was buying a winter item and it's saved me an absolute fortune as the retail price in Topshop for a Onesie is often over £30. I often start buying my winter knits and dresses in August/September and always get them for under £5 excluding postage.
Tip 3 ♥ Buy when it's quiet. Early hours of the morning or late afternoon I find are great times to pick up some really good bargains. People often list items but do not set a scheduled time for the listing to end. So the listing will then end the exact time it was listed. By browsing Ebay on my lunch break at work I have managed to bag bargains on items I've been watching and never spending much over £5 on an item.
Tip 4 ♥ If you can wait buy it from abroad. A lot of items such as handbags, jewellery and some clothing are in fact available to purchase direct from the supplier often China or Singapore based. If you see an item such as a necklace that you want and it is listed at £12 to buy it now, do some searches with key words and sort by price lowest to highest you can often find the exact same necklace for sometimes a tenth of the price! The only downside is the shipping can take up to 28 days. But it's a great way to save some serious cash.
Tip 5 ♥ If you know exactly what your looking for always sort by Price Lowest to Highest. It's the quickest and easiest way to see who is selling the item you want for the very cheapest price.
Tip 6 ♥ Make your search vague. Often people don't have time to list and describe items they upload to Ebay. I have seen hundreds of items merely listed as 'Top'. If you keep your search very basic such as the item of clothing you want and the size you want it in you can find some hidden gems that other people generally won't stumble across.
