This is how i was scammed on Ebay when I was selling an item. Learn from it.
The buyer/scammer was : karenl63
The scam works by a bogus buyer adding an item to their shopping cart thus sending an "your item has sold" email to the seller from Ebay. The buyer will claim to be from an international country and send you a spoof email from Paypal requesting a tracking number before releasing the payment meaning you have to send the item to the scammer. The scammer pretending to be Paypal then says that there is too much money accidentally paid for the item and requests you to send the deficit to the buyer (scammer) before the full payment will be released to yourself. This means that if the scam works on the victim then the scumbag scammer gets the item and the money deficit and the seller gets nothing.
Bottom line is : DO NOT SEND ITEMS TO BUYER UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED A CONFIRMED PAYMENT ON BOTH EBAY AND PAYPAL.
and : DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY TO ANYBODY, PERIOD.
Don't get taken advantage off
