If like me your loving your designer make up and always have a peek on ebay to update your make up bag then please beware of the foreigners flooding the pages with fake eyeshadows from Chanel, Dior and Lancome.

Specifically Chanel, quad sets of chanel eyeshadow have become more and more common in the recent weeks and at first i myself was tempted by the colours on offer, i paid £19 for what i thought was a lovely set of colours only to be greeted with a very good copy of the chanel case, with only 2 eyeshadow blocks still in tact, the rest fell to pieces as it had been broken in transit, i even tried a little on my eye, it took me 4 washes before it disappeared!!

the way to tell is this, if you look at a chanel quad set from the boots website it will give you the exact colour ranges that are possible, if someone says they have a colour range which isnt available on boots or the chanel website, then thats your first warning sign, the second and this is the most important one, if you buy a real chanel set from a store it always has 4 eyeshadows in it, they are round but more importantly they are always raised a little which you should be able to tell from a photo, also they will always have 2 applicators with them which will be black in the middle and black sponge tips on both ends, the fake ones currently appearing on ebay have silver middles.

once you recieve your fake eyeshadow you will have a velvet cover to protect your case, when stretched this does not spring back and looses shape very quickly, the real ones do not even stretch and fit the cases like a glove, you can get some bargains on ebay but i hope these tips will sway you towards the genuine sets out there!! and dont forget if your in any doubt at all, just compare it to the chanel website!!!
