This guide is to explain how to distinguish fake sony headphones - especially the high-end model mdr-ex90 and mdr-ex85.
I bought a pair of " sony mdr -ex90lp " from a seller ... (his name is not that relevant because its hundreds of them) for 6.99 .
When making a payment i wrote to him " if the headphones are fake - please refund my payment immediatelly"
I don't know why even believed they may be GENUINE. they were shipped from UK, and the seller had some positive feedback, from trading with them previously so it seemed real for a while.
I got the headphones after couple of days and - it was evident just when i saw the box thats its a poor copy of them. There was no rubber ear pices (S,M,L - only one size that didint fit me), no pouch or no instruction and the box has 99% of everything written in chineese.
The headphones were made out of plastic, carelessly skipping any details of the real sony headphones. The sound was simply dreadful, the mini jack was rusted, therefore one earphone didint even work, and the sound from another was like you were listening a music underwater.
The point of this guide is only one - there is no point of me showing you pictures of them, because you don't want to realize you bought fakes when you get them delivered to you -
PLEASE BE 99.99% SURE THAT IF YOU BUY ANY HEADPHONES THAT COST 40,OR 70 POUNDS FOR UNDER 20 POUNDS THEY MUST BE FAKE.
In my case, the seller offered a refund if i post it back to him, but i didnt - he would probably sell them to somebody else. Anyway, i didin't want to trust him again, and hope that he will kindly refund my money after i spend another 2 pounds for posting them back to him.
I gave the seller negative feedback saying that these headphones are fake.
I hope this guide helps some of you, and you will avoid being cheated by these clever cheaters.
i bought a genuine sony mdr-ex90lp from play.com for 55 pounds and i am finally happy, they are awesome.
