Lately I have been receiving a LOT of emails from random people and companies.....luckily going to my junk email inbox...but really are disturbing!
The first I received was one supposedly from my own bank telling me that they needed my 'account informations' as the website had gone down or something like that.....Luckily I didn't click on the link as I realised my bank didn't even have this email address!
The second came from Paypal.....This time they needed me to verify my credit card details.....A little unusual I thought as I have been verified for about 3 years now!......I looked at the return address
accont @ paypal.com
Either Paypal were unaware of their spelling mistake (and this would be silly and rather embarrassing for such a big company!) or this was a hoax....I assumed the later.....
Then the next email was from ebay....Apparently I'd added a random AOL email address to my account (I don't have AOL!).....So I logged onto ebay to check and nothing of the sort was there....If another email address had been added I would have had an alert on My Ebay....but there was nothing.
The next was from 'An Ebay Member'...It was set out like a message you'd expect to get on here.....It stated that they'd sent payment and wanted to know when they'd receive their item.....The member was 'Grapevinehill'....I knew I had no dealings with this person so ignored it. I have since received this message 3 times.
I now receive about 15 emails a week....apparently I am a member of every bank in the UK which makes me laugh.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH EMAILS......DO NOT CLICK ON LINKS IN EMAILS.....DO NOT RESPOND TO ANY EMAILS....THEY JUST WANT TO GET YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS!
IGNORE ANY EMAILS FROM FOREIGN PEOPLE SAYING THEIR FATHER/MOTHER/UNCLE/AUNTIE/DOG HAS DIED...WHEREAS MOST OF US DO HAVE HEARTS.....SURELY THESE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE 24 MILLION TO PLAY WITH, WHY WOULD THEY WANT TO PUT IN YOUR ACCOUNT OVER ANYONE ELSE.
