Step into a vast, unknowable land once again in this fourth game in the Far Cry franchise. Players find themselves in Kyrat, a wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the regime of a despotic self-appointed king. Using a vast array of weapons, vehicles and animals, players will write their own story across an exotic open-world landscape. Built from the legendary DNA of its award-winning predecessor, Far Cry 4 delivers the most expansive and immersive Far Cry experience ever in an entirely new and massive open world with a new weapons, vehicles, wildlife and more.

In Far Cry 4, you can conquer fortress outposts from the back of a six-ton elephant and take to the skies as you rain down explosives from the seat of your gyrocopter. The vertical landscape of the Himalayas isn't just a pretty backdrop, but a playground that encourages the player to fight, hunt and explore, grappling up cliffs or launching into the air, plummeting to the valley below in a controlled free fall with your wing suit. You'll carry with you a truly unique arsenal of weaponry that lets you play your way, whether it's sniping, sneaking or all-out assault. When all else fails, animals can be your biggest allies or your greatest danger, as Kyrat's wilderness delivers on the promise of a true open world anecdote factory.

The Game
Far Cry game series is always put the mark on high, and trying to raise the bar higher all the time. From Far Cry 2 the games in the series are kind of pioneering the open world. The land is designed to hunt, explore and discover with your grappling hooks, wing-suit and parachute.

The Land
The game takes place in the Himalayas, where you find the fictional land of Kyrat, ruled by a self-appointed ruthless dictator called Pagan MIn.

The Arsenal
You can carry a variety of arsenal which lets you decide how to play the game, it can be stealthy, "snipery" or guns blazing - the way it intends to be.

The Assault
Far Cry 4 is introducing the peril from the above; you can be attacked from the skies above, vertically. In Far Cry 3 it was the horizontal ground that spawns danger from the wild animals and the human enemies and in Far Cry 4 you need to worry about the vertical threats as well, isn't that exciting.

The Graphics
The curse of the PC is managing the graphics, the new games are graphically and resourcefully more demanding. Kyrat and the Himalayas are beautiful with the foggy wind and the sharp environments with every animal and the scenarios are depicted in such detail, are going to be heavy on the PC.

PC Requirements
From my discussion with a few of Ubisoft employees, almost eight months ago, and to my big surprise at that time, according to them you can play the game with a 2GB RAM, if you've a decent video card of at least One GB dedicated graphics memory on even Windows Vista 32 bit and above systems!! (Don't hold your horses yet, it has a bad ending) That was a big surprise, meaning, those who are with old computers can actually play the game without upgrading (still, you need a good graphics card, which you can get, if you don't have one and try to buy a card with at least 2 GB dedicated graphics memory which won't be that expensive, for example you can get Asus GeForce GT 610 Silent Nvidia Graphics Card for £35 which includes the free delivery in Amazon), What other requirements you need? Direct X version 9, 30 GB of Hard Disk space, and a minimum Core 2 Duo processor.

This has a bad ending anyway, later Ubisoft became tough on the PC requirements, Operating Systems till Windows 7 were out, and tougher requirements were announced. Ubisoft is pointing the direction of much demanding PC requirements like the minimum Core i5-750 2.66GHz (Intel) or Phenom II X4 955 (AMD), NVidia GPU GeForce GTX 460, or AMD GPU Radeon HD 5850 1024MB with 4 GB RAM. The worst thing about the requirements were only 64 bit Operating Systems are supported and the video cards needed DirectX 11 compliant with Shader Model 5.0 or higher, even if your laptop has similar Cards it is not officially supported.

My suggestion is play with a gaming laptop or PC and don't go for minimum requirements because I am playing on a 32 GB Ram, i7 3rd Gen processor with a 3GB dedicated graphics memory I rarely had bugs and crashes (even Battlefield 4). When you play in a minimum system, you may be able to play but the gameplay experience would be horrible, and you don't want to spoil Far Cry 4 with a minimal system.

The recommended system requirements is Intel Core i5-2500S 2.7GHz or AMD FX-8350 with Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon R9 290X with an 8 GB RAM. Try to get that requirements, and remember to play with at least 8 GB of RAM.

System requirement lab's minimum and recommended system requirement is listed below:
Minimum: Intel Core i5-750 @ 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2 GHz
Video Card: Minimum: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD5850 (1GB VRAM)
Features: Minimum attributes of your Video Card
Required Icon Pixel Shader version 5.0
Icon Vertex Shader version 5.0
Icon Dedicated Video RAM 1 GB
RAM: Minimum: 4 GB
OS: Minimum: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64bit versions only)
Free Disk Space: Minimum: 30 GB
Sound Card: Yes
Recommended Requirements
Recommended: Intel Core i5-2400S @ 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz or better
Video Card:: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon R9 290X or better (2GB VRAM)
Icon Pixel Shader version 5.0
Icon Vertex Shader version 5.0
Icon Dedicated Video RAM 2 GB RAM
RAM: Recommended: 8 GB

The processors for Far Cry 4 are quite fine if you've played Far Cry 3 or Battlefield 4. The graphics is superb in the game and more colourful, but this time Ubisoft tried to make it mass marketing for the PC gamers, without too much upgrading on the systems, provided you were playing in recommended settings in Far Cry 3. Core Duo processor with 2.4 GHz is the minimum for playing the game with a good graphics card, and a 4 GB RAM (and my recommendation of 8GB RAM)

My recommended settings
If you're playing Windows Operating Systems, try to get 8 GB RAM, a minimum of One GB dedicated graphics card, at least 20 GB free HDD space, and the Far Cry 4 will work on the low to medium settings. Remember to upgrade the graphics drivers and direct X to the latest version. If you really interested in playing high end settings go for a 3.1 GHz processor ( preferably an i7 processor with 3.4 GHz), 16 GB RAM, Direct X version 11, updated graphics drivers, a minimum 3 GB dedicated graphics memory, minimum 50 GB HDD space. If you look at the settings you can see that these are the standard settings now and you won't need to start all over and spending heavily on the upgrades, that's the good news. If you played recent games like Wolfestein: New Order, Watch Dogs or older games like Far Cry 3 or Battlefield 4, chances are your computer can play Far Cry 4. Check the graphic drivers, direct X are and make sure that they are updated, again make sure that your computer/laptop has enough system and hard disk memories.

Duniya Engine
The Duniya 2 engine is amazing, Far Cry 4 is my superior and colour than Far Cry 3 and the weather effect will blow you away. The realism of the environment have such a profound impact and the immersive gameplay will take you straight into the game. Duniya, in many oriental language it means "world," from Far Cry 2 made the world very open for the game. In Far Cry 4 the open world concept took new heights, if you can see it you can go there, as you heard before, the difference here is exploration. You can explore the vast open world, and wander for hours without getting bored, as there is so much to see and so much to explore. Duniya's dynamic weather effects, integrated animation, facial expressions, motion, radiance, reflection, environmental effects, and A.I. are stunning.

The gameplay is similar to Far Cry 3 but with a few novelty options. The best thing I found is riding elephants (once you unlocked the skill). While riding an elephant, though you can use your weapons, the elephant do the destruction like throwing away enemies and vehicle, and the elephant's one-hit-kill-trunk is real fun.
Unlike Far Cry 3 you can kick, and make the boxes and crates to smithereens and of course kicking is very useful in a variety of situations.

Cover and Survive
Cover and Survive is still the base line of the survival strategy now with much more elaborate movements and options than Far Cry 3.

You can use a variety of strategic options like stealth, plan the attacks and use the surroundings at your advantage. For example, you can use a beehive against an enemy though you might get a few stings as well. You may be attacked from anywhere from the skies or in the water, and using the surrounding for your advantage is the key. Strategically attacking the enemies further expanded in Far Cry 4 for example, you can rig a vehicle with explosives and "release its break" to wreak havoc!

The Karma System
The good deeds, like rescuing a prisoner or hostage, will give you good karma points, when you spin the prayer wheel. However, you lose karma points when you do bad deeds and stupid things. Killing animals get you good karma points (and skins) .

This is another difference from Far Cry 3, while the driving is similar you have a new option called auto-drive which automatically drive you to a waypoint you designated. You can use your weapons or just do nothing but view the surrounding while the vehicle drives you to the destination, it may be boring to do nothing but when it comes to using your weapons it's an advantage.

Gyrocopter or "Buzzer" is a small gyroplane, as you probably seen Hurk is flying one. It's quite exciting, and you will love the vistas from the Buzzer, and you'll have an "elevated" feeling as well.

Weapons in Far Cry 4
The famous Ghurkha Kukri is the standard knife you will have. Handguns include the familiar 1911, D50, .44 Magnum, 6P9, M712, and Mark IV. Shotguns include D2, 1887, .700 Nitro known as "the Elephant Gun," SPAS-12, and M133. Submachines guns are A99, A2000, Skorpion, Heckler and Koch MP5, MP34, BZ19 and of course Vector .45 ACP. Assault Rifles include AK 47, F1, STG-90, P416, MS16, and ACE.

Machine Guns are the usual PKM, U100, MKG, MG42 and the Russian DShk which is the mounted machine gun in Far Cry 3. Sniper Rifles are SVD, M-700, Z93 (in Far Cry 3 Z93 has the powerful signature version called AMR) and A50.

Now comes the special weapons in Far Cry 4 which include The Harpoon Gun (You may have seen this in Hurk's hands), flare gun, flamethrower, Auto-crossbow which fire lethal bolts, recurve and hunter bows. Other essential arsenal objects include grenades, throwing knives and of course, the Molotov cocktails. Not finished, there are mortars and rocket launchers ready for use.

Binoculars are a great advantage to you. These binoculars are ultra-trendy and with 24x optical zoom! When you spot an enemy with the Binoculars, their location will appear on your radar as a triangle. From the colour you can understand the following info.
Green -- The enemy is not aware of your presence.
Yellow -- The enemy is more vigilant and is on the lookout for suspicious activities.
Orange -- The enemy knows that something is wrong and will be actively searching for you.
Red -- The enemy knows of the your position and will soon shooting at you, if not already.

Night Vision Goggles
Night vision goggles or cry-goggles are good for exploring the dark areas. The thermal capability of the goggles pick up body heat, so the thermal vision in addition to the night vision will be a great advantage.

Elephant is the main addition to Far Cry 3 which can be used to your advantage, you will also have wild boar, honey badgers, rhinos, deers, tapirs, Tibetan wolf, vultures, yak, bharal, snow leopards, dholes, sambars, macaques, bees wonder why there are no snakes! And of course the demon fish, I would say it is a cross between Piranha and a Crocodile (of the Far Cry 3) is one of the dangerous fauna in the water.

End May Not Justify the Means
Unlike Far Cry 3 you have to make moral decisions early in Far Cry 4 and as I explained the Karma system, it's much more than that. The characters in the game have their own perspectives and some of them can be ruthless and you have always with a choice to make your own Karma. So you have the moral decisions to make to save an NPC from a threat to forming alliances.

Liberating Outposts
liberating outposts is harder than Far Cry 3 especially with tougher firepower of the enemies, like mortars that reigns death from above, but more rewarding. The fortresses and outposts can be played with two player co-op. Just add your friend and play the battle together and it's super-fun and exciting. You can use a variety of strategy here like one of your friend as a decoy (obviously your friend not you) making a lot of "noise" and you can concentrate on the mission objective while the enemies are after the decoy.

Remember in Far Cry 3 you were only able to shoot the cage to liberate animals against the pirates, here you can actually attract animals with baits and its good strategy (When you kill an animal you'll get some of the animal meat to use as bait.). Your arsenal is further expanded from Far Cry 3 so you have much more choices even when going in with guns blazing, or attacking from the gyrocopter or with the help of an elephant, or using stealth or attracting animals, the options are plenty. Far Cry 4 is all about choices and options you can use to your advantage.

Your Own Outposts
I haven't tried this yet, in Far Cry 4 you can create your own outpost, you can create the map with A.I. patrols within minutes. According to Ubisoft the user maps are much easier to create and based on the addictive Far Cry 2 map generation tools.

Bell Towers
As in Far Cry 3 climbing the radio towers to unlock weapons and locations are similar in Far Cry 4 as well. These platform-jumping puzzles are replaced with bell towers instead of radio towers. The bell towers unlock weapons, missions, and reveal locations in the map.

The Missions
Along with the single player campaign you'll have the Golden Path missions, Shangri La, Unlocking Bell towers, the Bible thumping Longinus missions, and our friend Hurk came back to a visit so there is, of course, Hurk Missions.

Along with Hurk, CIA agent Willis Huntley comes back from Far Cry 3, these recurring characters are kind of nostalgic (already!? Yes!). You will meet many interesting characters like Amita, Sabal, Rabi Ray Rana, our recurring friends Hurk and Willis, Longinus, Paul Depleur, Yuma, Dr. Noore Najaar, Darpan, Divya Kandala, Mohan Ghale, and the villan Pagan Min and each character has a story to tell sometimes more than one.

Crafting System
You'll follow the similar crafting system as in Far Cry 3, you need to craft wallets, holsters and other useful items with animal skins. If you kill an animal using a bow and arrow or throwing knife, you'll get "clean kill" reward which will give you two pelts instead of the standard one and you'll also get karma points.

Inviting a Friend: Better Co-op
Remember the co-op mode in Far Cry 3, where there is a prequel "campaign" where you are one of the four players. In Far Cry 4, players can actually invite their friends to Kyrat! Yes, together you can explore the vast open world, liberate outposts and fortresses, loot collectibles and the best of all, the experience and items collected will carry over to all players' games when you finish the session.

Skill Trees
In Far Cry 4 there are only two skill trees, one short of Far Cry 3, which are Tiger (Combat) Skills and Elephant (Health) Skills. The skills are based on collecting experience points.

The Errors
The common errors in Far Cry 4 is dropping frame rates, random crashes, game shadows, the black screen where the flora don't render properly and the map is blacked out. To fix these common errors you need to download the patch. Follow these instructions:

1.Download the patch.
2. Once downloaded it extract the archive on your PC and open the patch.
3. Select the folder where you installed the game, the default folder is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Far Cry 4″.
4. Select your graphics card and check to make sure that your card and make sure the drivers are updated.
5. Select your error from the box in the right.
6. Click Verify and Patch and wait until the "successful" message appears. Continue to play the game.

Downloadable Content - Season Pass
Far Cry 4 Season pass will give you additional content and an exclusive day-one mission along with various items. The DLC included are:
1. Escape from Durgesh Prison - this is a prison break content where you escape Yuma's prison where you were captured and tortured. You can escape teaming with a friend.
2. The Syringe is the exclusive mission mentioned before in the day-one Season Pass. In this mission you'll stop Pagan Min from accessing a rare recipe which can thwart the rebellion. You can play this mission as single player or with a friend in co-op.
3. Overrun is a PvP multiplayer mode - you can play this mission as a Rakshasa (monster) or the Golden Path warrior. Capture the territory and keeping the territory is the key aim in this scenario.
4. Hurk Delux Pack - our friend Hurk has more to share, with this pack you are getting five missions starring Hurk, these missions can be played in single player or in co-op. The Hurk pack has five new weapons as well.
5. Valley of the Yetis - yes, Yeti's I don't know if it's Himalayas answer to Lochness monster, but Yeti intrigued many around the world, and of course, with Himalayan background there should be a Yeti mission. After your helicopter crashed in the frigid Himalayan ridge you need to survive by exploring and scavenging items from the frozen land to upgrade your camp and protecting it from the homicidal cult members when night falls. You can play it as single player or co-op, and this is your chance to see the mysterious and dangerous Yeti. This dark adventure is lethal and harsh, so co-op is more advisable, as it has more dark regions and caves to explore.

If you're keen on buying the Season Pass with a set, make sure that they included the Season Pass with it. Sometimes it's confusing that some editions include Season Pass with a higher price but similar titles may not, you can buy Season Pass separately in Amazon as well. If you're buying with a special edition make sure you've the Season Pass included.

Ubisoft Servers are unreliable (Hope they will improve)
Lower Frame rates, black screen and rendering issues (reported)
Only for 64 bit systems
UPlay client errors are reported
Heavy 3 GB patch needed even the very first day!
Pre-Windows 7 systems were reportedly not playable
System with Minimum system requirements are reportedly crashing often
Map editor not supporting multiplayer (currently 18-11-2014, I think they will soon resolve the issue)
Many reports on interrupted patch downloads, server and Uplay client issues are reported and I hope Ubisoft is trying to resolve it. Though these are serious cons, compared to the Far Cry 3 or Battlefield 4 release, these cons are much lower. If you have a powerful machine many of the issues like downloading, Uplay client issues, rendering problems, black screen etc. will not bother you.
