This is a wonderful family film with lots to keep everyone interested and watching to the end. Johnny Depp is completely believable as the author who finds inspiration for his famous work "Peter Pan" in a family of 4 young boys. Their widowed mother is happy to encourage their imaginations and the boys play and put on little theatrical presentations with their new friend, Depp as J M Barrie, the author.
The young boys are very good young actors, especially Freddie Highmore. Their grandmother is very strict and thinks their freedom to play, dream, imagine and have fun is seriously out-of-order. This creates tension between the characters.
I defy anyone not to be affected by the last 15 minutes of the film. It is beautifully judged and there is a sort of happy ending. Well, it is Neverland!
