Fire Baskets - A Buying Guide

There is little doubt that a roaring fire on a winter's evening in the garden brings a certain warmth to the soul.

A fire basket in your garden will bring colour and warmth to the patio, deck or lawn. They can, of course, be used year round for your outdoor events, barbecues and parties.

WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR?
Good construction is important. A good fire basket will be made from steel and coated with high temperature paint. Each point should be spot welded or riveted. Underneath the fire basket, expect to find a tray to catch the ash.

WILL THEY LAST?
Due to the nature of construction, you can expect some surface rust over time. Simply sand down the rusty areas and spray with suitable high temperature paint to bring your fire basket back to perfect condition.

WHAT CAN WE BURN?
Fire baskets work best with wooden logs.

IS IT ALSO A BARBECUE?
Many fire baskets will come with a grill to fit over the top of the basket. That way, you have dual use from your purchase – as a fire basket and as a barbeque. Not all baskets are designed to use a grill, so select carefully to find the one which suits your needs.

ANYTHING ELSE?
You will find a range of fire baskets available from seller’s on eBay, including us, so take a look.
