Tomme Tippee Perfect Prep Machine

My daughter was breastfed, so this wasn't an immediate purchase for us. However, when we decided to try her on formula, this was the first thing I went out and bought. It's essentially the equivalent of a coffee machine, but it makes baby bottles instead. It dispenses the water in 2 stages & you just add the formula powder.  Fantastic for those night feeds, but also great for when you start on solids, we use it to make up the milk to make our daughter Oatibix for breakfast. These retail for between £79.99 & £99.99 but are worth every penny.
This would be my top purchase for a first time parent.

Maxi Cosi Car Seats & Isofix Base

I heard a lot of people talking about Isofix base's & car seats. They sounded expensive & complicated. Usually you would need to invest in a new base for each car seat you moved on to. This is where Maxi Cosi step in.
Introducing the Maxi Cosi Family Fix Isofix Base. One base which fits 2 car seats. The Pebble (which is usually birth - approx 10 months) and The Pearl (10 months+) I wondered if we needed the base, friends had spoke of using seatbelts and that they were just as easy. Let me tell you, nothing is as simple as this Isofix base. When your baby is a teeny tiny newborn, there's no more battling in the wind & rain with the car door open while you try to buckle them in. Simply click the car seat on the base and away you go. Plus, its safer than just fixing the car seat in with the standard seat belt.
The base retails at around £149.99 but is worth every single penny.

Baby bath with sloping seat, a helping hand for bathing baby,

Tippitoes Mini Bath

Bathing tiny newborns is really daunting. They are so tiny! Standard baby baths require 2 people ideally, ome to hold baby and one to bath baby. You can try to do it alone, but it's really difficult...
The Tippitoes Mini Bath is a helping hand when it comes to bathing a new baby. It has a graduated sloping seat, to help support baby. The bath is also smaller in size, so it makes baby feel a little more comfortable, often baby baths are quite big, this is a compact bath but still roomy. It also makes bathing baby by yourself a lot easier and less scary, as the bath helps to support baby too.
Our daughter used this until she was 8 months old, she loved it so much but she literally had no space to move so we had to upgrade the baby bath unfortunately! The Tippitoes Mini Bath retails for £13.99.

Motorola MBP36 Digital Video Monitor

A few people asked me why I wanted a video baby monitor. "Why do you want to see your baby sleeping?!" they would ask. My reply? "Why not?"
I imagined, that if we had a standard audio baby monitor, that once baby had gone quiet I would have been frequently peeping in the door to make sure little one was ok. With the Motorola MBP36 Digital Video Monitor I can keep an eye on my little one at all times. I can watch her as she settles down to sleep. If she makes a noise at any point in the night, I can check if she's ok without disturbing her. I find it re-assuring that I can see how she's doing, it also features a handy temperature display so you can see the room temperature and adjust the heating as necessary.
I use this baby monitor every day without fail. Retails for £149.99 so is pricey, but definately one of my must have purchases.

Fisher Price Newborn-to-Toddler Rocker

We already had a baby swing, which we received as a gift, however, little one wasn't overly keen. My husband was going back to work and I needed a little seat I could pop baby in whilst I tidied up or made myself a meal. I also wanted somewhere she could nap during the day to save me moving the Moses Basket up and down stairs. The Fisher Price Newborn-to-Toddler Rocker was highly recommended online. So we got one...and our daughter loved it. It has multiple seating positions, it can convert from a sturdy seat with sturdy feet, to a rocking seat within seconds. It also has a calming vibration function (which all newborns just love). My daughter loved napping in this when she was younger, she would be flat out for hours in it.
This chair grew with her. As she got bigger, we sat the seat up and it was only as she became more mobile (and not as interested in sitting still!) that we actually tidied the chair away. This seat retails for around £49.99 from a variety of stores.

The perfect pushchair for holidays!

Zeta Vooom Pushchair

Pushchairs are a great alternative to a pram as your child gets older. I was fed up of heaving a heavy pram in and out of my car boot in multiple parts. By the time the pram was in the boot, there wasn't much room for anything else (and we have a large car boot!)
We had a family holiday planned, so it was the perfect time to invest in a light weight pushchair.
I did my research and the Zeta Vooom came out top. I ordered it and was not dissappointed. It's sturdy, comfortable & lightweight. Plus the £49.99 price tag is an extra bonus! It has a large sun canopy on the front, perfect for holiday sunshine and even to just use as a wind break on breezy days. It comes with a rain cover & you can purchase a foot muff for an extra £25. Don't feel obliged to invest in highly priced brand named pushchairs, the Zeta Vooom will beat them all.

Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Sooth & Glow Seahorse

My mam bought this as a gift for my daughter for her first Christmas. It has been in her cot with her ever since. When she was younger she would just stare at it, watching it glow & listening to the music. Now it's became part of her nightly routine, plus the glowing tummy acts as a lovely little night light.
Establishing this as part of the bedtime routine is also handy for when you're on holiday, the Seahorse acts as a comfort for my daughter if she's in strange surroundings. She knows that when the Seahorse is turned on, it's time to go to sleep. These are priced around £12.99. Bargain.

Ikea Antilop Highchair

This is simply the best high chair ever! We purchased another high chair for when we began to wean our daughter. It was slightly reclined, very bulky and difficult to clean. I'd read about the Antilop online. Unfortunately they are now discontinued, so your best chance of sourcing one would be on Ebay as Ikea no longer have them online.
It's a lovely little high chair, sturdy, lightweight, safe and importantly - easy to clean! My daughter loves sitting in it for meals and to play. It has a lap belt to help keep baby safe. These originally retailed at just £12.99 for the highchair and £5.99 for the tray. Unbelievable value!

Lindam Light My Way Nightlight

The perfect little nightlight for night time nappy changes. Definately don't want to be putting on bright lights in the middle of the night and waking a sleepy baby. Press a little button on the base and the night light will glow for around 10 minutes. As the child gets older, they can carry it around with them. My daughter loves it, she makes owl sounds whenever she sees it! These retail for around £10.

Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo

Our little one didn't want to put any weight on her legs for a while, but we wanted to encourage her to help her get some strength in them. So we purchased the Jumperoo. At first she just sat there, not doing much. As time passed by, she began to move a little until eventually she was bouncing around like tigger! I believe that the Jumperoo does a fantastic job in encouraging your baby to use their legs, which helps strengthen them for when they begin to cruise and walk. Normal retail value on the Jumperoo is between £79.99 & £99.99
