Fitting your Cartridge correctly

IDENTIFY THE PARTS USED (SEE IMAGE)
  • No. 1 - Counter Weight

  • No. 2 - Weight Indicator

  • No. 3 - Start of the Tonearm

  • No. 4 - Antiskate Adjustment

ATTACHING THE CART TO THE TONEARM

  • If you are using a standard cartridge mount, please attach the cartridge to the headshell as described in the cartridge mounting instruction. If you have a 'concorde' type cartridge you will not need to do this

  • Slide the cartridge into the tonearm

  • Twist the lock ring clockwise until the headshell is locked tightly into the tonearm
SETTING THE WEIGHT TO ZERO

  • Firstly remove any stylus protection

  • Move the tonearm over to the playing position

  • Next you will need to balance the tonearm, so that it rest level of its own accord (as per C)

  • This point is 0 grams, twist the counter weight indicatior (this is a seperate disc at the front of the weight and not the weight itself) to 0
APPLYING THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF PRESSURE/WEIGHT

  • Refer to the cartridge manufacturer instructions, to get the correct stylus pressure / weight

  • Twist the whole counter weight assembly to the desired setting

  • Return the tonearm to holder and lock

  • N.B - This may need increased if you find that you are experience skipping when cueing
ADJUSTING THE ANTISKATE SETTINGS

  • Antiskate should be set to the same amount of weight or pressure being applied by the counter weight

  • The antiskate setting is normally located to the back right of the tonearm heigh adjust section

  • N.B - Antiskate may need to be increased if you find that you are experiencing skipping problems when cueing
