HINTS AND TIPS ON CHOOSING JEWELLERY
Choosing accessories is important. Ask yourself if you want the jewellery to be a centre-piece that everyone notices or would you prefer it to be understated and just compliment? Sometimes less is more but in our opinion you can never have enough 'bling'. Shine and sparkle can compliment an outfit either by making a statement or through discretion.
The present trend is for large statement jewellery and conversation pieces. Fashion designers play an important role influencing what is 'in' and what is 'not in'. Gothic and punk styles are currently very fashionable through designs by Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood but choosing jewellery is always about personal taste and preferences.
If you have an average size neck then most 16" necklaces will fit perfectly but for the larger neck size this may be too tight, so we recommend a larger size chain. A long-drop pendant and chain is usually adjustable so it can be worn at the length desired .
Think about your wrist size when choosing a bracelet. Do you want the bracelet to be free moving and 'jangle' or do you prefer it to fit tightly? Check the measurements stated for the bracelet to ensure it will fit your requirements.
Remember that finger sizes vary and the size of the ring may need to be smaller or bigger depending on which finger you choose to wear it. Ring sizes vary from 16 (small) to 20 (large), so please check the sizes stated for the required ring before purchasing. Most statement rings come in stretchy adjustable sizes so they can be worn on any finger.
There are a range of earrings for pierced ears and also clip on earrings for non-pierced ears. There are also ear cuffs that sit around the outside of the ear. Some people have allergies to metals and in such cases we recommend nickel free or surgically treated earrings.
CARING FOR JEWELLERY
Remember, any shiny jewellery can after a time appear to loose its' sparkle but a quick rub with a silver cloth will revive it and make it look like new.
