HOW TO CLEAN COPPER NATURALLY AT HOME

You have found the perfect Copper object at a Flea Market or Car Boot Sale or even an Auction
You take it home and would like to spruce it up to sell on eBay.
How do you start, especially when the object is tarnished and you cannot afford to purchase expensive cleaners?

Here are 4 easy very cheap methods using products found in the average home.
Where a cloth is mentioned you can use a small soft bristled brush or even a toothbrush to ensure you get into all
the small corners or into small details of the design of the object.

1) LEMON
To remove tarnish.
Cut a lemon in half and dip one half in salt.
Take the half of lemon and rub the full cut surface of the lemon, over the copper object
When complete, rinse in warm running water and buff to a wonderful shine.

2) TOMATOE KETCHUP OR PASTE
Dab ketchup onto a clean cloth
Rub onto the copper object, if heavilly tarnished , leave ketchup up for several minutes
When complete, rinse in warm running water, ensure all the tomatoe ketchup is removed and buff to a nice shine.

3) VINEGAR
Dab a clean cloth into vinegar and then dab into a dish with salt
Rub all over the copper object
When complete, rinse in water and buff to a shine.

4) PASTE

Take 4 equal parts of flour, salt and vinegar and mix to a thick paste
Dab onto a clean cloth
Apply to the copper object
When complete, rinse in water and buff to a shine.

PLEASE NOTE:-
Before using any method ensure your object is not copper plated
Test in a an inconspicuous area first.
Also if your object is a valuable antique or a collectable, please contact experts - do not clean it yourself without expert advice.
