Holiday safeguards BEFORE BOOKING

With the recent failing of UK based tour operators.I have been looking round the holiday companies that offer cheap flights/hotels online. There are loads out there with tempting cheap deals. Please make sure you all book with a company that is A.T.O.L & A.B.T.A covered.

The holidays that you see advertised here on eBay may carry no cover at all in case of flight/operators going under, so be aware of what you are buying.

It now seems that when you book a flight only with some companies you do not get the cover that package holidays do.Make sure that when you book if booking flight then adding hotel to make your own package that you ask the agent if you are fully covered with ABTA and ATOL. If not DONT BOOK.

Also with your own travel insurance always ring and tell them that it is not a package deal when you book flight then hotel seperate even on the same web site when you pick flight, then go on to choose which hotel you want to add to the deal. otherwise you may come unstuck with them as well as that is called "independant travel" is not covered by your normal package deal insurance.

Always pay by Credit Card for any holiday, payments through any other way and you will NOT be re-embursed.

I know the majority of  travellers already know this but there will be lots that dont even think about it when they see a cheap deal online.

Remember if it looks too good to be true, thats because it usually is.

Jan :)
