Who says Halloween is just for kids?! A pumpkin carving party is just what the doctor ordered for us adults. Get together with your friends the weekend before Halloween to host the festivities – all you need are some decorations, plenty of libations and snacks, and carving tools. Guests can BYOP (bring your own pumpkin) for ease while you provide the necessities, like these  twenty things. Here's how to make it happen!

Set the Scene

Welcome guests by adding some Halloween decor to your space – I especially love a  Happy Halloween sign on the door and  paper decorations hung inside. But if this is your favourite holiday don't stop there! Add some spirit to the front and back garden and everywhere you guests might set foot during the evening.

Prep the Space

You want a fun get together, but not pumpkin guts on the walls and ceiling! Prep the area you'll be carving in by laying down large  drop cloths and/or packing paper to protect surfaces and keep mess to a minimum. When your through simply pick up and walk to the bin!

It's All About Mood

Set out plenty of snacks and drinks for guests to nosh on throughout, and don't forget the music – a  Halloween soundtrack playing in the background is a must! A  punch bowl will help keep cups full and bowls of sweets set about will guarantee some sugar-fueled energy.

Set out Tools

Have plenty of pumpkin carving kits available for your artists. Don't forget a few  carving knives on hand for removing lids, creative templates to trace, and scoops for pulling out the gooey guts. You can also set out a selection of craft supplies for extra embellishments.

Send Them Away Happy

Favours are my favourite part of a good party. Send your pumpkin carving party guests away with a little something for themselves – a  party bag full of goodies that will make the evening all the sweeter.

Happy Carving!
