How to add sky digital to another room or a bedroom without having to pay extra subscription fees or having to run up and down the stairs changing channels.
Using my method youll be able to have digital upstairs and be able to change over the stations from upstairs. You wont however be able to watch different from your downstairs connection or be able to record unless your sure no one will turn it over on you from the other room as its all run from the same box and connection.Youll be amazed at just how easy it is to do.I know I was.And all it cost me was approx £50.00 pounds. At the most.
If you decide to follow my Instructions and step to step guide you should have as I have a crystal clear picture both up and down stairs on both Televsions,as well as be able to change the television over from either up or down stairs.
YOU MUST ALSO BE AWARE YOU ARE UNDERTAKING THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK AS IM NOT THERE FITTING IT FOR YOU
THIS IS LIKE ANY OTHER DIY IF IT DOES NOT WORK FOR YOURS LIKE IT DID MINE MOST SUCCESSFULLY I HAVE TO ADD HENCE THATS WHY IM DOING THIS ITS ALL DOWN TO YOU.HENCE YOU ARE THEREFORE LIABLE FOR ANY BREAKAGES OR COSTS.THIS MUST BE UNDERSTOOD RIGHT FROM THE START.
I am doing this step to step guide as when I tried to find out info on the subject it took me hours and I had to go to various sites as not one covered the subject from start to finish as mine does. And in full detail.I will also tell you where you can get the bits from and a approx price so youll know what youll need before you start etc.It only took me an hour to fit to from start to finish.Might even take you less.
My digi box is pace and my house is old that is why ive had to do it the way I have you may have a easier way but I also have chicken wire running through my walls which caused a lot of interference. So this was easiest from me.Okay enough of the sell and boring stuff down to business.
Check All Your Connections
Check the back of your digibox there you should see two scart sockets, one goes into your television if you dont run a video as I dont your other one should be free,if not dont worry as a kit I will tell you about later on has a scart splitter in it you can use. Also check to see if the connection right next to your outside ariel is free if not youll also need a splitter for that, but usually they are free,as if your sky is run like mine through a scart this connection is of no use anyway.Nor do you need a ariel connection to the outdoors as all of the stations are usually on Sky Digital anyway. The two Connections you will need to use if you do it my way is the top scart connection on the digibox and the connection next to the outdoor ariel,do not touch anything at this point you dont need to.
Youll need to go into your system set up on your Sky Digibox via your remote control unit and your television screen. All of mine are as Follows: Picture Format: - 4:3 Second location Picture Fromat - 4:3
Scart Control - ON Video Output - RGB Contrast - Medium
Search and scan Timeout - 5 Seconds On Screen Timeout - OFF
Message Alert - ON
My contrast is on Medium as I suffer less interference this way.Now you have checked all that out your ready to go and buy your bits.

Some people use a sky mouse link,I cant say they work or dont work I kow they are cheaper,Some people say they work others dont,I personally choose The Wireless AV Sender Turns it over spot on with it.Also has no interference at all with mine being an old house.
Now that you have all your bits youll be able to get started. And by tonight be able to watch your sky in bed if all is like mine and as sucessfull as mine.It worked so perfect with mine I do so hope it does for you.Oh just so you know so youll be able to compare if you want my digibox is a pace one.Im pretty sure its a Pace BskyB.It was put in for me by sky digital. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO STATE AT THIS POINT IF YOURS DOES NOT WORK WITH YOURS BEING A DIFFERENT MAKE I CANNOT AND WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.
Connect female connectors to the coaxial one each end.( you dont need the male ones at all keep them for anothert project). The female one is the one with the tiny hole in the end.
Bring your spare television and have everything all in one room to start so you can check to make sure your spare television is compatible,as mine was but my sons in his room was not.Keep your main tele on sky so you know whats on while tunning your spare in its the way I did it.
Plug in your spare television to the mains, plug in one end of the coaxial with the female connection on it to your spare set,the other end to the connection, next to your outdoor ariel connection on your digibox.
If in use you have to use the connection splitter you got but I cannot guarentee you have a crystal clear picture like mine if you have to do it this way.
Then using your spare television remote control decide which station and tune the sky into your spare television. You should be receiving a crystal clear picture with sound on both televisions as I did. IMPORTANT Remember to store the tuned in station.
Put all connections into AV Sender and Receiver Units apart from the Infa red Extender dont need that just yet.
Put Scart of Receiver unit into spare television, and plug in make sure its turned off just for a minute.
Put Scart of AV Sender unit into top scart on your digibox, and plug in.Dont turn on quite yet.
If it is use then youll have to use the scart splitter.put in the splitter then add both connections.Cant guarentee youll get as good a picture though if you have to do it this way.
Turn off your main television not sky just the television. Then turn on both units via little switch on back of both units.
Using your new Spare Sky Remote Control into your spare television, and once you can see the numbers and the stations turn over your ready for step three,I did it this way so I knew it would be the spare I was turning over and not the main television makes for less confusion.
ALL DONE GOOD READY FOR FINAL STEPS.
Disconnect all of the upstairs bits eg.receiver spare television etc.
Leave AV Sender unit set up and pluged in.
You must also disconnect the coaxial at this point and also take that upstairs but first you have to remove one female connector from the coaxial first.
Drill one hole through the located room wall or window frame I did the window frame for mine and thread the bare, without female part down the outside make sure you leave it long enough to go to your spare television.Once threaded through drill another hole leading to your main room, and then thread again through this hole.Once threaded through this hole you can reconnect the female adaptor, and replug back into your digibox.
Set up your spare television along with your receiver where you want it then plug your coaxial back in again, you have to then reconnect your scart from the receiver into your spare television again and trun on ready.
Now you need to plug in your Infa Red Extender via the AV Sender youll see a tiny hole in the back of the sender for this. You must have your lead along the front just laying in front of your digibox will do as mine is like that.As it has to be able to send the signal upstairs so the closer the better.
Then finaly pop upstairs you should have a crystal clear picture along with sound and also be able to change over your sky digital while laying in bed.You may need to adjust your receiver a little upstairs for best reception for turning over.
THATS IT FOLKS I HOPE YOU ENJOY AS MUCH AS I DO.
SORRY IF IT DID NOT WORK FOR YOURS LIKE IT DID MINE.
