Autumn Style Inspiration

We took this photograph when in Florence on a cold January day. For us, Autumn/Winter is our favourite season for men’s fashion and this is a prime example of why we like it so much. Firstly, it’s the time of year when a man can wear a full suit without feeling too hot and uncomfortable. Then there’s the fact that you can layer heritage fabric garments to keep warm, with many men putting their own spin on things.

Finally, it’s the autumnal neutral colours that really gets us excited. Brown, burgundy, purple, green, navy... this guy has used all these colours to create both a striking yet classical look. It reminds us that colour is so important in style and that classic tailoring can still stand out against any modern trending garment.

Knitted Plain Green Tie – Here’s a similar tie by Frederick Thomas which due to the knitted fabric is perfect for the winter season. A great tip to remember when tying a tie that is manufactured using this fabric is to opt for the standard ‘School Boy’ knot. It’s both easier to perfect and looks better.

Blue Button Down Classic Shirt – This shirt by Jay & Leonard is almost identical to the one pictured. It’s a cotton blend finish with standard cuffs. If you feel daring unbutton the collar buttons for a bit of Sprezzatura.

Solid Colour Pocket Square – If you prefer to keep things simple and aren’t yet brave enough to tackle all this colour matching and patterns, you can tone down the pocket square by simply going for a solid colour. This one is in a nice neutral burgundy shade.
