How can you tell if the New Era NBA cap that you are about to buy online is genuine? Follow these 9 simple steps to verify the authenticity of your purchase. Always ask the seller to use the youVerify app prior to purchase. It's Smarter Selling & Safer Shopping.

Step 1: Visor Sticker 
Every New Era cap has a visor sticker which indicates the trademarked cap style name and size.

Step 2: Flag Logo
The New Era flag logo features on the outside of most caps. Check it's size, placement and alignment. Also check the stitching very carefully as it should be neat and tidy with no loose ends.

Step 3: Inner Taping
The inner taping will feature the New Era logo and trademarked style logo. Check the style logo is consistent with those featured on the visor sticker, receipt and labels elsewhere on the cap. And that the tape is in a straight line and neatly finished.

Step 4: Care Label
A care label will feature on the inside back edge of every New Era cap. Check that the stitching is neat and cleanly finished.

Step 5: Size Label
A size label features on the inside of New Era caps. Check that the size matches that detailed on the peak sticker label. And as before, that the stitching is cleanly finished.

Step 6: Organisation Label
Each official NBA organisation cap will feature an embroidered label. Check that the embroidery is neat and cleanly finished and that the NBA logo is consistent with the brand logo.

Step 7: Hologram (Position 1)
A hologram sticker with serial number is featured on the underside of the visor on all NBA caps. The Seller should show the hologram in position 1 in this photograph.  

Step 8: Hologram (Position 2) 
The seller should n ow show the hologram in position 2 in this photograph. Every NBA cap has a unique serial number. Check that you can read the serial number in either of the hologram photos.
