Details to bare on mind:

Leatherworkers in Morocco use three types of leather. Therefore, it is important to choose the correct type of skin as it will really determinate the quality of the pouffe.
The first details to keep on mind, are obviously, to know where do you want to place your item to choose the colours that match with your room.  And the most important, what is the approximate size that you  can fit in the room, leaving you enough space to walk around without disturbing.

Types of Leather:

  • Cow Skin: it is the thickest and toughest of all three, but is also the most rigid which makes it ideal for shoulder bags, rucksacks and shoes/sandals, but for this reason, is not the ideal choice for making pouffes.

  • Sheep Skin: it is the softest of the three, making it ideal for delicate items like embodied purses and handbags, and much more, including pouffes. But any items that will see a lot of usage in their lifetimes (such as pouffes) are prone to tearing/ripping.  Therefore, this type of leather is found normally for a cheaper price.

  • Goat Skin:  is a perfect balance of the other two. It is isn't as thick as cow, but is much tougher than, but not as soft as sheep, but compared to cow is like a baby's bottom to sandpaper.
Therefore, we have handpicked pouffes only made from goatskin, to be soft to the touch, yet durable enough to see you through many many years of traditional leisure.
