How to set your your meter controlled water softener

Once your meter controlled water softener is installed, you will need to set correct configurations for it. For doing that you will need to use 4 buttons on the control valve. These buttons are:



- MENU button;


- SET button;

 
- UP button;


- DOWN button;

When you plug your power supply in to the socket you will hear the beep sound and the screen on the control valve will turn on showing time and regeneration capacity values:

General things that you should know about configurations menu, before you start:

1. The screen will return to standby (i.e. to the first screen that you see when you plug power supply to the socket) after one minute of non-use. If you want to go back to configuration menu you will need to press MENU button.
2. The screen will lock after 3 minute of non-use. To unlock the screen you will need to press and hold MENU button until you here the beeping sound. When your screen is unlocked you will need to press MENU button again to get to configuration menu.
3. You can only change the values when they are flashing.

There are 10 menus in the configurations. If you use DOWN button they will appear in the following order:

Menu 1 :

Menu 1 is measurement units. It has two values: Metric and US Gallons. We recommend to set it to Metric value. To change value you need to press SET button. The value will start flashing and you can change it by pressing UP or DOWN buttons. Once you chose the value, press SET button again to confirm it. Press DOWN button to move to the second menu.





Menu 2:

Menu 2 is regeneration type. It has these values: Meter Delayed, Meter Override, Calendar Clock, Meter Immediate. We recommend to set it to Meter Delayed value. To change value you need to press SET button. The value will start flashing and you can change it by pressing UP or DOWN buttons. Once you chose the value, press SET button again to confirm it. Then press DOWN button to move to the third menu.




Menu 3:

Menu 3 is current time. The current time menu is in 24-hour format and has hour and minute values. It is very important to set the correct current time as incorrect time can cause the water softener to regenerate at the wrong time. To set current time you need to press SET button. The hour value will start flashing and you can change it to the current hour by pressing UP or DOWN buttons. Then press SET button and to adjust current minutes. Press SET button once more to confirm the chosen time. Once it is done, press DOWN button to move to the forth menu.



Menu 4:

Menu 4 is regeneration time. It is the time when the water softener regenerates the supply of soft water. We recommend to set it at 2 AM or 3 AM when nobody is using the water. The regeneration time menu is in 24-hour format and has hour and minute values. Follow the steps in Menu 3 to set the regeneration time. When the time is set and confirmed, press DOWN button to move to the fifth menu.

 



Menu 5:


Menu 5 is regeneration capacity. For optimal performance, measure your water hardness and refer to the ‘REGENERATION CAPACITY TABLE’ on the page 10 of our Water Softener manual. If you do not know your exact water hardness, we recommend to set the following values:

For AS200 - 0.60;

For AS500 - 1.40;

For AS800 - 2.00.

To set regeneration capacity value you need to press SET button. The whole number will start flashing and you can change it by pressing UP or DOWN buttons. Press SET button again and set decimal value. Once you chose the value, press SET button again to confirm it. Then press DOWN button to move to the sixth menu.


Menu 6:

Menu 6 is backwash. We recommend to set the following values:

For AS200 - 5 min;

For AS500 - 5 min;

For AS800 - 8 min.

To set backwash value you need to press SET button. The value will start flashing and you can change it by pressing UP or DOWN buttons. Once you chose the value, press SET button again to confirm it. Then press DOWN button to move to the seventh menu.



Menu 7:

Menu 7 is brine. We recommend to set the following values:

For AS200 - 19 min;

For AS500 - 18 min;

For AS800 - 47 min.

To set brine value you need to press SET button. The value will start flashing and you can change it by pressing UP or DOWN buttons. Once you chose the value, press SET button again to confirm it. Then press DOWN button to move to the eighth menu.



Menu 8:

Menu 8 is rinse. We recommend to set the following values:

For AS200 - 5 min;

For AS500 - 5 min;

For AS800 - 5 min.

To set rinse value you need to press SET button. The value will start flashing and you can change it by pressing UP or DOWN buttons. Once you chose the value, press SET button again to confirm it. Then press DOWN button to move to the ninth menu.



Menu 9:

Menu 9 is refill. We recommend to set the following values:

For AS200 - 4 min;

For AS500 - 6 min;

For AS800 - 9 min.

To set refill value you need to press SET button. The value will start flashing and you can change it by pressing UP or DOWN buttons. Once you chose the value, press SET button again to confirm it. Then press DOWN button to move to the ninth menu.



Menu 10:

 

Menu 10 is load default. It sets the values of regeneration capacity, backwash, brine, rinse and refill to the default ones according to the size of the water softener. It has 3 values: S-capacity (for small-sized water softeners, such as AS200), M-capacity (for medium-sized water softeners, such as AS500) and L-capacity (for large-sized water softeners, such as AS800).

We highly recommend you to skip Menu 10 and use our recommended values for regeneration capacity, backwash, brine, rinse and refill.
