Here i will try and explain how to make ordinary patches become iron-on and how to apply and after care for all iron-on items.

1) to make your own patch become iron-on you will need to buy a special glue sheet. these glue sheets are special and come with dry glue exposed on one side and the other side is covered with a grease proof backing.

place your patch over the glue sheet then roughly cut out the shape.
place the patch on the table with the reverse side facing up.
place the cut glue sheet over the patch with the glue side down, then apply medium heat for 10 seconds over the grease paper.
cut away the excess glue.
peel away the grease paper to reveal the other side of the glue sheet.
the patch has become iron-on and can be applied anytime you like and where ever you like.

2) Applying iron-on patches

It is very easy to apply iron-on patches to almost all types of garments, even very delicate garments should be fine as the patch will only require medium heat and for only 10 seconds.
place your garment on a hard surface like a table
place the patch where you want
cover with a thin cloth like a hankie or heat press sheet
apply medium heat for approx 10 seconds. can use a normal household iron or a press
inspect the sides to ensure the glue has melted well and the patch has stuck. if not then increase the heat a little more and reapply heat.

3) after care and washing instructions.

Always remember that the iron-on items are ironed on and not stitched on so a little care is required when in the wash , ironing.
when in the wash reverse all garments,
use low temperatures to avoid the glue from melting
NEVER TUMBLE DRY ANY IRON-ON ITEMS as the heat will melt the glue or make it weak.

4) GLUE SHEET

This special glue sheet is ideal for making your own patches as described above, it is also brilliant at making your own iron-on fabric sheets.
imagine you have an expensive dress/garment or something that is precious to you and it has got stained or ripped.
you can buy similar material or matching material and by using the glue sheet you can quickly make the material iron-on. then the damaged garment can easily be mended.
