A lot of folks have the misunderstanding that Business is about how successful one can be in smartly defrauding Customers!!! No, No and No!!! In the UK alone, financial cyber-crime including online transactional fraud costs the Economy £26 Billion per annum. Think about it.
Business is about Creating Value though the provision/supply of Quality Credible, Authentic Services, Products or both. There is no reason to Sell/Provide Poor Quality Products/Services through Inaccurate Marketing Promotion. It is about BUSINESS INTEGRITY. If the Product is of Poor Quality; best to say so then leave it to Customers to decide to exercise their choice - then at least they know what they are buying.
It is dishonest to knowingly sell Poor Quality Products which the Seller him/herself would not buy, only to use Low Price as an excuse. You ask why? This is because Price or Brand does not Guarantee Quality. Far from it. Some of the most highly prized items or Branded Products offer no more utility or satisfaction than their comparatively prized items or unknown brands. Before Brands became Known Brands, they sold practically the same Quality Stuff, with variations of innovation and modern technological improvements. High Branding can be a Quality Indicator - but this is not always the case. There are several UKNOWN BRANDS whose Quality and Utilitarian Values are far higher that known brands. To this extent, High Branding could be exploitation of Customer Loyalty and oftentimes Enslavement.
