Silver Buying Tips:

  1. Search thoroughly through the Ebay pages.
  2. Try using the new highest bid filter so you can see what's popular and what's selling right now.
  3. You can also go on the previous sold lots section which can give you a better idea of prices.
  4. Take good pictures and do the relevant research on the silver.
  5. Check out the British Sterling website for information on Hallmarks.
  6. Try and match the hallmarks from your item and the website. Look for the Lion symbol for British silver, Then: Anchor=Birmingham, Crown=Sheffield, Leopard=London. these are the main 3 hallmarks. You must then find the makers mark and the a letter from the alphabet which you can then trace maker and exact age of the item.
  7. You can make more money when you have done the research rather then just right silver and hope for the best.
  8. try investing in a nice clean looking background, I have chosen grey plastic sheet which makes the item stand out. I still need to get a better camera.
  9. I have been doing this for over 5 years now and I'm always learning and its just a hobby really I'm no professional.
  10. I hope this will help you guys and don't forget to enjoy it as that is the key!
