so, your new to the psp, huh? Dont worry. PSP (PlayStation Portable) are not as complex as they look. Before you start jumping into games without knowing whats going on... i recommend you read this guide and that you read the instructions, just so you know what your doing:
1. (START BY READING THE MANUAL, IT WILL TELL YOU WHAT BUTTON IS WHAT)
2. now switch the PSP on. and after registering a few details, head left to settings. this is where all the information is stored. have a browse through the different settings, these will be used to personalise your PSP to your liking, here are just a few of the options you can press to make your PSP... just yours.
2.a. UMD settings -> UMD autostart > on / off (THIS MEANS THAT, WHEN TURNED ON, YOUR UMD WILL START UP STRAIGHT AWAY, WHEN OFF, YOU WILL RETURN TO THE PSP MAIN SCREEN.) i recommend keeping it off for now, just until you know your way around.
2.b. theme settings -> (pick a colour) THIS CHANGES THE COLOUR OF THE BACKGROUND, IF YOU HAVE A MEMORY CARD AND A SLOT ON YOUR PC WHERE YOU CAN INSERT IT, USE THAT DO UPLOAD PICTURES AND VIDEOS AND SONGS TO THE PSP, THESE CAN ALSO BE USED AS A BACKGROUND / THEME.
3. its now personalized, please note a lot of the features on the psp require internet access. this can be bought from online stores etc. now i recommend you update your PSP. this can be done by going to game -> PSP update ver. --. PLEASE NOTE YOU HAVE TO UPDATE REGULARLY AND THIS CAN GET VERY ANNOYING. to help update, you can register it on yourpsp.com . follow the nstructions on their to gain even more access to the PSP. it can also update the psp (if you have a memory card) i had to keep updating my PSP, but yourpsp.com updates it to about ver. 3.2 meaning you wont have to update again for a long time!
4. youve now pretty much prepared yourself, so pop in a UMD, go down the games list, click UMD, sit back and enjoy the ride.
