Knit Pro Needles

Knit Pro are a manufacturer of (what I think are) rather nice knitting needles and crochet hooks. They are probably best known for their interchangeable circular needles, which means that you can swap the tips of the needles with different length cables. This can be invaluable if you're knitting something like a shawl and need to increase the length of the needles to accommodate the amount of stitches, or rather than having the same size needles in a variety of lengths you can have 1 set of tips and a selection of cables.

Knit Pro make all sorts of different tips for the cables, from ultra-light carbon fibre ones (Karbonz) to the more basic aluminium ones (Basix Nova), and unlike other brands all the tips will screw into all the cables. Although the shorter cables, 40cm, will need shorter tips to join into a circle.

The cables, come in purple or black and - if you feel flash -  with gold connections. They range from 40cm to 150cm in length, this includes the tips once attached. The cables also fit the Tunisian crochet hooks that Knit Pro make. If you require a longer cable you can get connectors, so you could, in theory, have metres of cable.

Assembling Your Needles

When putting your Knit Pro needles together it is important to use the little locking key that is provided. Insert this into the hole on the cable, just behind the screw, this gives a bit more purchase to ensure your needles don't unscrew whilst knitting - which could be a disaster.

Stoppers

Each cable comes with a pair of small stoppers. These are so you can use the tips on more than one project at a time and use the cables as stitch holders. This is particularly useful if when knitting a garment you need to leave stitches on a holder. Once you are ready to knit the stitches again simply swap the stoppers for tips.

YouTube Demo

Just in case that wasn't very clear, we made a YouTube video. Please note we only put one tip on as let's face it, doing a second one is fairly obvious!
