Loosely translated from the French for the little strumpet la petite Salope is a British based brand created in London by designer Nicola Helgesen. Founded in 2001 almost by accident La Petite Salope has gone on to become one of the fastest growing UK designer labels, bolstered by a faithful customer base which responds to the labels mixture of old school sophistication combined with modern construction of line. Initially well known for its gathered tulle ‘prom’ dresses with in – built corsetry, La Petite Salope has built on the style’s enormous success to offer a complete range of day and evening wear which now extends beyond the contemporary debutante to a world populated by elegant amazons clad in a trade mark palette of dusky pastels and dark rich tones.

ooh la la ― the line offers a dusky palette of artfully gathered tulle dresses with in-built corsetry. They're the sort of pieces just perfect for an intimate dinner: a beautifully draping dress; flickering candle lights of a dimly-lit restaurant picking up the warmth of its hue, reflecting it as a luminescence of your skin as you gaze lovingly into your dinner companion's eyes. *wistful sigh* from Chic Simplicity
