Y'know that feeling when you wake up on a Sunday and all you want to do is smash a massive fried breakfast and hit the film collection HARD? Your brain ain't gonna hack it watching Inception or something so it’s gotta be a classic, easy ting. Here’s my top 8:
Cooooooool Runnings fam! Gotta be up there with the best sofa movies ever. That slow clap at the end still gets me every time – make sure you’re not on an emotional hangover if you got this on the box though. It'll get ya. Got some of the best lines in it too, “How about a draw a line down your head so it looks like a butt !!?” Hahahaaa.
It’s all about being a big kid and sticking this on imagining what it’d be like to catch your toys jamming. I reckon my Thierry Henry Soccerstarz would still merk Barthez even in toy form. Anyway, stick Toy Story on if you’re with ya girl and forget about that hangover.
Ali G In Da House
This comedy doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. Gotta be one of the funniest tings coming out of the UK recently. Ali G on the telly was dench but the film took it up a notch. It’s got man like Tim from The Office being a rude boi and that’s worth watching it for alone. My mates still do the swearing below the window thing that he does to the copper haha !!
This has got to be watched purely for Brad Pitt’s jokes accent. Man can’t understand a word of what he’s saying (I know a few people like that) but that makes it funnier. Snatch has so many mad scenes to get you forgetting that headache exists.
The classic teen movie we grew up with fam. Too many jokes in this one. Everyone’s got that one mate who’s exactly like Stiffler too. Thinks he’s the boy but couldn't pull in a brothel but the girls aren't really into him. All my mates were obsessed with Nadia – people couldn't stop talking about that scene !
Bad Boys 2
Gotta get my man Will Smith in there somewhere and Bad Boys 2 is the ting. Grew up with this joker on the Fresh Prince so he’s got a place in my childhood already. The best type of movie for a hungover Sunday – no brain power needed and soooo many jokes.
Shaun of the Dead
Stick on that Shaun of the Dead for some proper British jokes. The scene when the zombies first arrive reminds of London on a weekday morning!! All I wanna do is throw vinyl at a zombie now too.
Dumb & Dumber
Man can’t wait for the sequel to Dumb & Dumber cos the first one is the funniest ting. Man like Jim Carrey absolutely killing it in this one too – in fact, you could stick on most Jim Carrey films when you’re lazing on the sofa; The Mask, Liar Liar, Me Myself & Irene all got me creasing. Man gonna have to think real serious about buying a van shaped like a dog for my next whip too. Keep away from that Seabass scene if you've got a dodgy stomach though innit. That’s foul.
