We've loved watching the rise of popularity of macrame in the design world lately, so it's not too surprising that we're all about the unique ways couples and wedding creatives have incorporated this fun, woven design element into weddings.

One of the best things about macrame is its versatility (it looks just as at home at a boho garden celebration as it does at a stylish, modern affair). And we love that you incorporate as much or a little as you'd like into your day; think backdrops, table runners, escort card displays and more.  See some our favourite ways to involve macrame into your day below.

Macrame Escort Card Display:

Believers that no detail should go unnoticed, we love the idea of creating a fun vignette for hanging your guest escort cards. A woven macrame piece provides a perfect display for different styles of cards, and it's so easy to attach them directly to the yarn. After buying a  macrame backdrop, or DIY-ing your own woven piece, grab some  kraft gift tags and  gold binder clips and your display is practically ready to go.

Ceremony Backdrop with Macrame:

For those who dream of a ceremony filled with bohemian vibes and tons of style, a  hanging  macrame backdrop is the way to go.  Get creative with the seating and cosy up the aisle with a  Moroccan rug or two.  Your ceremony is one aspect of the wedding where going all-out can really pay off. And choosing to go with a unique backdrop will help your ceremony feel unforgettable and special to the two of you.

Macrame Hangings with Flowers:

What's one piece of wedding decor that will look just as great in your home as it does at your wedding venue? A   macrame plant hanger! For the big day, we say work with your florist to add fun, textural plants or fresh flowers to the planters to create a big impact at your reception.  After the big day, swap in an easy-to-care-for indoor shrub and you'll not only have a rad corner conversation piece, but also a fun remembrance from your wedding day.

Macrame Table Runner:

For DIY brides who want to add some style and dimension to their tables capes, we love the idea of a macrame table runner or placemats.  If you're feeling crafty, we recommend scooping up some  macrame cordcrochet hooks and a  macrame pattern instruction book to try your hand at weaving your own.

For Your Reception:

Macrame provides a great backdrop for any aspect of your reception and can even be used to decorate your bride and groom chairs!  Grab a large-scale   macrame wall hanging and place it anywhere in the space that needs warmth or division. You can even have your floral designer weave in a few fresh blooms  or vines to give the piece a fun, overgrown look.

If you love macrame as much as we do, we highly recommend picking up a  macrame project or pattern book – a helpful starting point for anyone who wants to tackle a DIY macrame  project for their day.
