Although magicians aren't very common today a lot of products have been linked to magicians of the past. If you want to learn magic tricks it is probably best to use these sets/books as a jumping off point, go to specialist magic shops instead (or search Ebay for something similar) should you require something more professional.
Ali Bongo (1929-2009) A comedy magician, also known as the 'Shriek of Araby'. He also illustrated books. Bongo Hat trick can be purchased. Bongo Book 1966, Be a Magician by Ali Bongo 1979, Ali Bongo's Book of Magic 1987, Juggling for All 1991-5.
David Nixon (1919-1978) He was also a dancer and singer, as well as presenter. He was also a panelist on What's My Line. He created a Magic Box of tricks. The only book available is "The Magic Box" published by Picollo in 1973.
