Mercedes A140

Despite checking out a couple of poor reviews on What car and Auto trader, we recently bought the wife a second hand Mercedes A140 classic. 2000 (V plate) We have had her a few weeks now and i can honestly say this is a fantastic little car, my wife is pretty picky with her cars and usually finds faults quite quickly and within hours she was complaining that the stearing seemed light and unstable on closer inspection one of the front tyres was pretty worn (just legal) and had a screw in it, we had two new tyres put on the front and the wheels balanced and what a difference., it drives like a new car!!

There's more than enough power delivered from the 1.4 petrol engine with smooth and precise gear selection from the 5 speed manual gearbox, with more than adequate suspension the ride is smooth and comfy. The seats can be removed (including the front passanger seat) although our model has air con it really doesnt need it as when the standard blowers are turned to cold they do actually blow cold air, if you need heat on a cold morning then no problem, it takes about 2 minutes from a cold start.

Even though this is the classic (base model) it boasts Electric windows (x 4) Electric mirrors, remote central locking, alarm and immobiliser, Air con, and quick clear dehumidifyer, Both drivers and passanger seats are hight adjustable and have lumbar support, and of course there are air bags everywhere (well almost) For a small car this has decent room I am 6ft and we have had 4 adults in the car comfortably and there was still plenty of room in the back for my two dogs (one of which is a lurcher)

Well done Mercedes
