With the holidays quickly approaching, we've got our eyes on all things metallic. Hues in the metallic family (think gold silver, copper and bronze) are quickly becoming a basic or neutral tone, that works so well in so many different styling scenarios. Metallic details pair well with a variety of colour stories and add a little touch of shine to your day. Below, you'll find some great ideas involving metallics that would work perfectly for fall and winter weddings and events.

Gold Calligraphy:

Gold, copper or silver calligraphy really ups the ante on any standard paper good.  To DIY this look, you'll just need a writing surface and a  metallic calligraphy marker.  (And, ok, let's face it, some penmanship skills, too) Your guests will likely be thrilled to have a pretty handwritten keepsake – featuring their name in metallics – to remember your day.

Metallic Cake Stands + Vessels:

To give your cake table a little gilt, opt for a gold or  metallic cake stand. If you're planning to serve several smaller cakes or treats, you can grab a handful of cake plates and vessels.

Cake with Gold Icing:

While we totally get that sometimes (err, most times!) it's best to leave the wedding cakes to the pros, if you're a baker at heart and want to take on making a gold-flecked cake for your wedding or a party, it's actually quite a bit easier than it seems. With   gold fondant or icing , you can add sporadic dabs of shine to any cake, cookie or treat.

Oversized Copper Place Cards:

Here's a unique detail we love for adding a little metallic flair to your tables capes.   Copper metal sheets turned oversized, industrial place cards. Copper sheet metal is affordable and looks great with guests' names written directly on it with a white chalk pen or paint.

Metallic Confetti:

If your venue allows it (and some don't so definitely do your homework), we love the idea of having guests toss   gold or silver confetti as you make your way back up the aisle or exit for the night.

Sequin Fabric:

To really add some metallic vibes to your day, sequins are the best way to do it. There are a million different ways to incorporate  gold sequin fabric into the setting. Try it as a cake backdrop, aisle runner, table drape or styling background.

Metallic Balloons:

For a playful photo-op, we love the idea of   metallic mylar balloons. They come in all the best metallic hues – gold, silver and copper – and with a little planning and creativity, you can use them to spell out a cute saying or inside joke.
