The Sega Mega Drive, for me personally, is one of the most nostalgic pieces of plastic I've ever laid eyes on. Known in America as the Sega Genesis, this was Sega's late Eighties, early Ninties attempt to compete with Nintendo, and it surely did that. Though it had it's troubled times later on in life, gamers still look fondly upon this console. So here, from my experience I give you games you must have, in order of how soon you need them, and games you should never get, in order of how much you should avoid them.

Must haves:
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
This is the game that you need to buy your Mega Drive with, it's brilliant

Micro Machines
You got friends right? Because this game is awsome. A racing classic, forever

Jurrasic Park
Play as reptile or man. This sidescroller is brilliant destructive fun, with so many memories inside. Just awsome, you don't even need to watch the film. Just pick it up and play.

Michael Jackson's Moonwalker
This game is put down alot because of the first two words in the title. But even so, this is a really enjoyable game, there's nothing bad about it at all. (Except Michael chamone)

Dynamite Headdy
Before Rayman there was Headdy...Dynamite Headdy is still better, countless to what everyone else says, this game is still in need of the respect it should have earnt

Comix Zone
One of the later and lesser reknowned titles, Comix Zone has a very interesting format of play. Underneath all the coolness to the layout though, it's a beat-em-up, and a darn good one at that.

Toejam and Earl in Panic on Funkotron
Excellent and funny, this title is well worth picking up. Shame these characthers faded away.

Super Smash TV
Another classic to play with your friends. Very creative title too

Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 3
Two great games, unfortantly they don't equal up to the second in the series

Earthworm Jim 1 and 2
It seems with everyone trying to cash-in on mascots, only Shiney Entertainment got it right. This game is a reknowned classic, let's hope they can get Jim to make a comeback.

Sonic & Knuckles
This game is good on it's own, but it's shining point is the fact that you can put other Sonic games with it to unlock Knuckles. Downloadable content before downloadable content. Brilliant

Aladdin
Based off the Disney movie, Aladdin plays and looks really good. The soundtrack is very well done, and the whole game is so good, it ranks up with the best

Mega Man: The Wily Wars
Three remastered classics in one compilation. What a nessecity

Road Rash
Motorbiking had never been this fun

The Streets of Rage Trilogy
Extremly fun classics to play, matching up with Double Dragon quite easily, these are all must-haves

The Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Some of the best 2D fighters right here. Mortal Kombat is iconic in the fighting genre

Columns
This dosn't really need much of a description. This is an extremley entertaining fun game, even if it is trying to be Tetris. Good job Sega

Duke Nukem 3D
It's my way or...Hell, it's my way. Duke Nukem's classic, how can you go wrong?

Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse
Yes, Disney made some good, challenging games back in the day. If you ignore the fact that you're playing as Mickey Mouse, you can get rather into this one. A very good entertaining title.

Dick Tracy
Dick certaintly redeemed himself with this Sega Mega Drive release, not often heard of because of it's over-shadowing, very terrible, counter-part on the NES

The Revenge of Shinobi
Brilliant sidescroller, and had many sequels and prequels, but this is where it's at

The Lion King
More Disney fun, though this one is very challenging for a kids game

Mickey Mania
As a tribute to the cartoon icon being about for so long, this game was released, letting you play through all his past adventures. Very well made and presented

Golden Axe Trilogy
A brilliant and memorable trilogy. However, nowadays, you might find the third game quite hard to come acrost. But it is defitnly worth the hunt.

Double Dragon 1, 2, 3 and 4
One of the more original beat-em-ups, this was much better on the NES, but it's still enjoyable here

Battletoads
Another game like "Streets of Rage" this one is alot of fun to play, though is remebered on the SNES much more fondly

Street Fighter II: Championship Edition
Classic 2D fighter, everyone's seen, heard or played this one

Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
Sega's old mascot only got one game on the Mega Drive but it isn't too bad. The game is a nice friendly platformer, that looks like all those other really infantile games of that era. Nice little soundtrack though...

Lemmings 1 and 2
Everyone can remeber the Lemmings. These games are some of the most best puzzle games about. Even to this date

James Pond Trilogy
Good fun, though got a little boring towards the end

Altered Beast
This is fun in short bursts, but the game can be a bit of a drag at times. I also find this can be a little broken as well. But still worth a play on

Alien Storm
This game is a lot of fun in short bursts. It plays a lot like the better titles such as "Streets of Rage" and "Golden Axe" This one can be picked up on "Mega Games 3" and you will find this much cheaper than getting the original. Depends on how much of a collector you are

Must avoid:
The Great Waldo Search
Somethings are just meant to stay as what they originally were...You can't honestly cash in on this...

Action 52
This game's so broken they couldn't get it liscened. 52 of the worst games known to man (though maybe worse on the N.E.S.) These games are diabolical, and just go to show that, even though you might not think they do, games did have to have some sort of standard, even if it wasn't much of a standard, it still had to be there. This is rare, and the only reason you'd pick this up is for profit. If you want to pick this up to have a game, you must be insane...

The Jeopardy! Trilogy
How can you make THREE games of this, let alone one?...It's beyond me, honestly

Dark Castle
Fulled with glitches and bugs and made by Electronic Arts, oh the shame!

Bible Adventures
More unliscened rubbish. You can only begin to imagine...

Ghostbusters
What a dull, dull, dull game...And based on such a big franchise too, shame...

Ballz 3D
Lives up to it's name. Probably one of the worst fighting games on the Mega Drive. But it does look kind of nice......Nah I lie, just because it's in 3D, still looks terrible

Awsome Possum Kicks Dr. Machino's Butt!
Can anyone say cash-in? This plays like Sonic the Hedgehog. Only terrible and annoying. The darn thing won't shut up.

Shaq-Fu
A fighting game starring Shaquille O'Neal. Pathetic like all the non-basketball stuff he did

Taz-Mania
Terrible draw distance, even worse considering it's a Mega Drive title

Clayfighter
A terrible fighting game that somehow got a sequel on the N64

Bubsy and Bubsy II
Bubsy and it's sequel were yet more cash-ins on Sonic. Yet Sonic's better -groan-

X-Perts
Another poor shooter...

Sonic 3D Blast
This game controls so poorly...But it has nice graphics :)

Chester Cheetah
Yet more Sonic cash-ins......Starring the cheese puff cheetah. So it advertises as well.........

McDonalds Treasure Land Adventure
It dosn't matter if it's enjoyable to play. It advertises something that needs no advertising. I hate McDonalds
