Types of Food Available

There are many types of bird  food available for owners to purchase for their parrots,  your choice varies from seed mixes to complete pellets and a mix of both.  This guide is to help you choose the best diet for your bird .....
Seed Mix - This seems to be an obvious
choice but the amount fed and quality varies greatly.  Choose the correct   seed mix for your parrot species,  the mix should be dry and dust free.  We recommend a quality seed mix with a good variety of seeds , no monkey nuts (peanuts in shells) and no large amounts of one seed i.e  large amounts of sunflower seeds or other cheap bulk fillers.
Complete Pellets -  They are a complete food for your parrot or parakeet and come in a range of pellet size and flavours.  With a complete pellet you have piece of mind that your bird is eating a complete and balanced diet with less waste , due to parrots being fussy eaters and not just sorting through the seed diet and only eating their favourite seed within the mix.

Specialist Feeds - These foods can range from  a foraging complete food such as Nutri-berries to a seed mix with added vitamins such as Extra Vital.  Foraging food with seed and complete pellets are fantastic way to keep your bird healthy and their mind active,  the seed mix with added vitamins are great if your parrot is used to a seed diet but need an extra boost at times such as moulting.
