PAGER GUIDE- what to look for

If you are looking for a personal pager on Ebay always check for listings that confirm whether the pager is registered to a network.

A working pager will switch on and show a display, to be fully functional it must be registered and connected to a network.

Currently there are 2 active pager network providers, these are PAGEONE and VODAFONE.

The BT pager network was shut down around 3-4 years ago, therefore a BT pager is effectively useless, avoid buying them.

Most of the pagers on Ebay will have no contract, the "Calling Party Pays" ie only the person sending the message pays, this is usually around 50p per message.

The only cost to you is for the pager itself and for a battery (usually 1x aaa).

HOW A PAGER WORKS-

Each pager has its own number which is similar to a mobile phone number.

You should distribute the pager number to your family and friends. When someone wishes to send you a message they simply dial this number and an operator will answer.

Pagers are particularly useful as they can be taken into places where mobile phones are not permitted, they are also a good alternative for those who dislike mobiles.

Pagers cannot send outgoing messages.

SEE MY ABOUT ME PAGE FOR DETAILS OF COVERAGE IN THE UK.

ALL OF THE PAGERS THAT I SELL ON EBAY ARE TESTED WORKING AND CONNECTED TO EITHER THE PAGEONE OR VODAFONE PAGER NETWORK.

THEY ARE GUARANTEED READY TO USE WITH NO CONTRACT.

Thankyou for taking the time to read my guide, I hope you find it useful.
