PAYPAL - HIDDEN CHARGES (PAINPAL)
I have been trading on EBAY for nearly a year now, using PAYPAL as my main source of recieving and sending payments.
Recently, i paid for a mobile phone, it cost me £55. I paid for the item as usual through paypal - because 'it's the safest way to pay'.
A week passed and still no item. I went through the 'item not recieved' process.
After about 10 days of waiting, i was horrified to learn that PAINPAL had refunded me £30, and announced that the other £25 is the cost of the investigation, and is only refundable if it is recieved from the third party!!!
£25 - a lot if you ask me, but makes you think - wouldn't it be easier to send a postal cheque or cash recorded delivery??
AND ANOTHER THING......
for all those people who think RECORDED DELIVERY is a safe postage method, let me tell you that i used to work for the Royal Mail, and know that if a person is not into sign for it, 40% of postmen will put it through your letterbox to save hassle.
