As i'm sure you are all aware, personalised number please have been around for a number of years now and the Police have been quite relaxed about spacing, font and style of the design.

However, as of the 1st of November, number plate suppliers must adhere to the DVLA's requirements for the supply of plates. This is being followed up by the local Police authorities who are now tasked with stopping offenders with illegal number plates and issuing an instant £30 fine.

A photograph of the plate is sent the the DVLA who store it on there database, and if you are caught offending again the DVLA will revoke the registration mark. (Remember that small print thy added on your retention certificate stating they can, if they wish take the registration mark back!)

My wife was stopped this morning for having a mis spaced numberplate and issued a fine and a warning, and a friend of hers was stopped on Saturday (different police authority) and the same thing happened to her.

BE WARY OF BUYING NUMBERPLATES THAT HAVE TO BE SPACED INCORRECTLY TO SHOW WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SAY.
