How To Paint Wood Properly

First of all it is important to use a paint that is suitable for painting on wood, you will usually find on the tin if it is suitable or not.
More importantly, it is critical that you use a sealer first, these are usually clear or white in colour, and i would always put two coats on, sanding in between coats. If you dont use a sealer the paint will just sink into the wood, espically around the cut edges.
Once you have your sealer on and it is sanded down to a very smooth finish you can now apply your paint, again with this for a nice finish you would want to apply two coats with sanding in between. It is important to get a even coat of paint as any blemishes will show up in wood.
It took me many attempts at the start to get the perfect finish so it is really all about trail and error, and now i have our workshop set up for painting wooden objects.
We can paint any items at request and even have some finish products on our Ebay Shop. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/WoodKraftNI
Good Luck with you painting :)
