PayPal Receipt for Payment - BEWARE

I received an email receipt, allegedly from PayPal, for a payment to a company in the US. The amount was only $39.00. It said that if I did not authorise the payment, I was to click on a link to the PayPal site, where I was asked to enter my credit/debit card number, CV2 code, expiry date and PIN number (which made me suspicious - why would they need the pin number?)

When I checked my PayPal account, there was no record of any payment being made to this company, and the company's  web address did not exist.

I duly entered my 'bogus' details and sent it off! I am still waiting for their 'confirmation'.

So, please double check your PayPal accounts for any payments you are supposed to have authorised, before you send any details. And beware of anyone asking for PIN numbers.

Thanks for reading this (it is my first guide, so I hope it has been useful)
