Piston slap is a very difficult problem to solve. RESTORE does a good job on cushioning piston slap providing the cylinder walls haven’t worn too far and the bores have not gone too oval. Try 50ml of RESTORE down the empty spark plug holes (or injector holes or glowplug holes in a diesel) using an oil can or syringe, cover the holes with cloth, spin the engine, replace the (pre-heated) spark plugs and start it up. it will smoke for a while then clear and be RESTORED within 500 miles of normal driving. put any remaining RESTORE into the sump through the oil filler. Install a new genuine oil filter.
