GOT TO SHARE THIS WITH ALL OF YOU...PURCHASED A SUZUKI GS500E THAT IS NEARLY 20YRS OLD.  5000 MILES ONLY (GOT OLD MOTS).  KEPT THINKING IT WAS MY IMAGINATION (IM A DREAMER). BOTH FORKS SEEMED TO BE LEAKING TINY AMOUNT OF DAMPING FLUID.  THEN THE RIGHT FORK LEG WAS GETTING MORE FLUID ON IT (NOT MY IMAGINATION).  WAS LOOKING AT TAKING BIKE INTO BIKE SHOP AND PAYING EASILY £100 TO HAVE NEW FORK SEALS; GUY INFORMED ME AS WELL BIKE WOULD BE WITH THEM AROUND 3 DAYS UNLESS I HAD ALREADY PRE-ORDERED THE SEAL (AROUND £15), IN WHICH CASE THE BIKE WOULD BE IN AND OUT IN ONE AFTERNOON (FAIR ENOUGH).  SO WAS LOOKING AROUND EBAY AS YOU DO AND NOTICED COUPLE OF SELLERS OFFERING WHAT LOOKED LIKE A STUMPY RULES OF PLASTIC WITH A HOOK ON END.  HAD A LOOK AT THE ONLINE VIDEO AND IT LOOKED EASY ENOUGH.

POP YOU OUTER FORK SEALS COVERS WITH A SMALL SCREW DRIVER.

GIVE AREA INSIDE THE FORK A GOOD CLEAN AND USE SOME WD40 ETC, I ALSO USED AN OLD TOOTHBRUSH AS I COULD SEE CRAP.

SLIDE YOU SEALMATE (SLITHER OF PLASTIC THING) JUST BEHIND THE SEAL UP AGAINST THE INSIDE OF FORK.

SLIDE SEALMATE AROUND IN A COUPLE OF COMPLETE CIRCLES, WITHDRAW SEALMATE BACKWARDS AND UPWARDS.

DONT BE FOOLED BY NOT BE ABLE TO SEE ANY CRAP, MINE LOOKED CLEAN.

BEFORE PUTTING OUTER FORK SEAL COVERS BACK ON PUMP THE FRONT FORKS UP AND DOWN.

MAY NEED TO PUMP FOR UP TO AROUND 10X; CLEANING THE RESIDUE OFF AFTER EACH PUMP.

WITH  BIT OF LUCK, PUT OUTER SEALS BACK ON AND...SHOULD BE SEALED.  MINE ARE FIXED, AND I'M 90 QUID BETTER OFF.

THE REASON I MENTION MY GS BEING 20 YEARS OLD AT START OF THIS GUIDE IS IN SOME CASES THE SEALS WITH NEED REPLACING, BUT IN MANY CASES IT IS JUST SMALL AMOUNT OF GRIT/GRIME MAKING THE FORKS WEEP.  KEEP IN MIND YOU WILL PAY AROUND UNDER 10 QUID FOR A SEALMATE AND EVEN IF IT DON'T WORK AND YOU HAVE TO TAKE BIKE INTO SHOP OR DO IT YOURSELF YOU WILL STILL NEED TO KEEP SEALS CLEAN.  I HAVE HEARD OF PEOPLE HAVING THEIR FORKS DONE AND 8 MONTHS LATER START LEAKING AGAIN.  I WOULD NOT MIND BETTING NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE SEAL JUST BIT OF CRAP HAS GOT BACK IN BETWEEN FORK AND SEAL (AGAIN)

WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOOSE, I AM BOUNCING AND WELL HAPPY.  I DID NOT THINK IT WOULD WORK (MY MIDDLE NAME IS THOMAS).  KEEP IN MIND YOU NEED THIS EXCELLENT BIT OF KIT TO KEEP YOUR NEW SEALS 100%

YOU CAN ACTUALLY MAKE ONE OF THESE TOOLS OUT OF OLD MILK BOTTLE PLASTIC AND CUT TO SHAPE, THERE ARE TEMPLATES ON GOOGLE, BUT I PURCHASED MINE AS THE GUY WHO THOUGH OF THIS BRILL IDEA DESERVES YOUR CASH - I GOT £90 LEFT IN MY POCKET WHICH I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD IF BIKE HAD GONE TO SHOP.

OH YEAH, ONE LAST THOUGHT IF YOUR BIKE DOES HAVE FORK SHIELDS/GUARDS OR NEOPRENE SLEEVES THEN DEF FIT SOME.  THE SEALMATE ALSO WORKS WITH REGULAR AND INVERTED FORKS.

IF ANY OF YOU GOT SOME CASH SAVING BIKE TIPS I WOULD MORE THAN WELCOME YOU SENDING THEM...
