A FEW HANDY TIPS ON SELLING.

The best form of selling is to describe your item as you see it.  There is nothing worse than searching for an item and then all you find is..........*****UP FOR AUCTION, 1 LADIES SKIRT***** and nothing else to describe it.

This to us and potential buyers means nothing.   Our next move then is to email the seller with hundreds of questions such as........"What brand is it, What length is it, What colour is it, Is it a zip at the back, front or side".   Then by the time the seller replies, the auction has ended and there is no sale.

IN EFFECT.......GET IT RIGHT, GET A SALE.  A FEW EXTRA MINUTES TO DESCRIBE WHAT YOUR SELLING MAKES THINGS EASIER FOR THE BUYER AND THE SELLER.

 

AFTER SALES CUSTOMER CARE.

Always email the buyer with a small note thanking them for there purchase...instructions on payments and how long they have to pay for the item....and also when the item is dispatched.  Communication is the name of the game.

 

PACKAGING.

1, The best form of packaging for none valuable and none fragile items is a plastic postal/mailing bag. They are very cheap to buy and due to the weight doesn't cost the seller OR the buyer any extra for postage.  E.G, a jiffy bag could cost you upto £1 each, then you have the extra weight for postage, were as a plastic mag bag will cost around 20p + nothing extra for the weight. It might only be a couple of pence, but a couple of pence adds upto pounds if you are posting items out everyday.

IF YOU CAN SAVE IT, YOU'RE MAKING IT.

2, ALWAYS put an extra thank you note in with your parcel thanking the buyer for there custom, this will make the customer feel special and they will more than likley add you to their favourites list.

3, ALWAYS put your name and address on the back of your parcel, then if the inevitable does happen and the parcel doesn't reach it's destination, it can then be returned to you. 

4, ALWAYS put the buyers post code on the post office reciept. You can then claim from the post office if the parcel goes missing and is never returned to you.

5, USE paypal packing slips and pop them in a documents enclosed envelope, you will then have peace of mind that you have NOT  put the wrong post address on the parcel as the buyers address is already on the packaging slip, but best of all, you will look professional and will also be saving time by not writing labels out.

6, LET THE CUSTOMER KNOW WHEN THE PARCEL HAS BEEN SENT, THEY CAN THEN MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR NEIGHBOURS ETC TO COLLECT THE PARCEL IF IT IS TOO BIG FOR THE LETTERBOX.
