ROLEX WATCHES (Fake spotting).
I have just read some guidelines on Ebay for spotting a fake Rolex, which I found ridiculous in the main.
Most punters could not spot a good fake, because they are so good today. This business about the second hand ticking movement is so out of date!!!!
I own a genuine Rolex twin metal, as they are called (gold & Stainless steel) and I recently bought a fake in an auctin for £27.50, in new condition and would defy anyone to have told the difference. The second sweep hand was the same, the writing was the same and it was an automatic. The bracelet was the same; in fact it looked the business.
The only thing to me, was the crown; for altering date, time etc. this was 'wobbly'.
My advice is, to buy from a reputable shop, where you have some comeback. They have a reputation to uphold and if you are spending that sort of money...... don't take risks.
The old addage is still true.
IF IT LOOKS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE... THEN IT PROABLY IS.
