SPELLBOUND. D.C. Thomson. 1 25th Sep 1976-14th Jan 1978 (69 un-numbered issues, joins Debbie)
Much under-rated girls' mystery title,  a year and a half or so before Misty from rival publisher IPCwhich is the one they all rave about. Take a look at this title. These comics do show up on E Bay and are worth buying. Free gift with issue #1 was a Mystic Sun Pendant and in issue #2 was Your Supercats Secret Diary. These add maybe £15 to the value. Maybe more. Super title. Paved the way for something more mature and thoughtful in girls' comics.

SPIDERMAN COMICS WEEKLY. Marvel UK. 1 17th Feb 1973-666 14th Dec 1985 (see The Mighty World of Marvel)
First there was The Mighty World of Marvel in October 1972. Then came this second Marvel UK title as the original American comics were suddenly Non Distributed (or not available) in UK newsagents. For the first time since 1961 you could only buy the vast majority of your Marvel Comicss from specialist comic shops and back then there weren't that many comic shops around. So this was the only way to get your Spiderman fix and even then it was stuff from ten years previously. Highly collectible title, especially the first fifty issues or so. The paper quality before it went 'glossy' means that high grade early issues are hard to come by. The free gift from issue #1  Spiderman Mask is basically a printed paper bag! It adds £35-£50 to the value.

STARLORD. IPC. 1 13th May 1978-7th Oct 1978 (22 mostly un-numbered issues; joins 2000AD)
Short-lived but interesting title, designed at the time as a companion piece to 2000AD. Very common though. It's amazing what prices are achieved on E Bay for issue #1! Nov 2007: £19.50! The free gift Starlord Badge is usually attached to the cover as people kept duplicates for re-sale at the time. I have seen boxes of number one issues! Sets of #1-22 appear on E Bay and have sold for around £25. The one Summer Special was 1978. Value about £4.

Very popular on E Bay and highly collectible. Tough to find early issues in high grade. Free gift with issue #1 the cut-out X-Wing Fighter, adds maybe £15-£25 to value. #2 with X-Wing Fighter press-out gift sold for £21 (Nov 2007).

Strangely under-valued in my opinion but time will tell. They don't often turn up on E Bay either.

STRANGE ADVENTURES DOUBLE DOUBLE COMICS. Thorpe & Porter. 1 1968
These were bound-together remaindered copies of of selected DC and Marvel comics with covers taken from original DC comics or sometimes new covers adpated from interior scenes. Very hard to find in Near Mint but often show up on E Bay in low and mid grade. Good reading value. To my knowledge there are 24 different Double Double Comics across a number of titles - Action, Adventure, Batman, Detective, Jimmy Olsen, Justice League, Lois Lane, Strange Adventures, Superboy, Superman and World's Finest. But I'm still looking!

STRIKER. City. 1-79? 1970
Never really caught on as Scorcher and Score did though copies and even runs turn up on E Bay. The free gift with issue #1 Dial-A-Striker Wheel adds maybe £25 to the value. Earl issues can have slight spine rolls owing to the staple-less binding technique. Much like early Warlord or Bullet comics.
