THIS GUIDE IS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DON'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A GENUINE GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAME AND A FAKE ONE.

THERE ARE SEVERAL POINTS TO ENABLE ANYONE TO IDENTIFY A COPIED GBA GAME THESE ARE AS FOLLOWS

  1. LOOK CAREFULLY AT THE STICKER ON THE CARTRIDGE, IF ANY WRITING I.E THE GAME RATING IS PRINTED OVER THE GAME TITLE THIS GAME IS FAKE.

  2. ALSO LOOK AT THE SMALL CIRCLE ON THE BACK OF THE CARTRIDGE BELOW THE EMBOSSED NINTENDO STAMP THIS SHOULD BE FINISHED OFF, ROUNDED IN WITH A CENTRAL DOT IF IT IS NOT LIKE THIS THEN IT IS FAKE.

  3. AND FINALLY IF YOU LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CARTRIDGE WHERE THE CIRCUIT BOARD IS, ABOVE THE CONTACTS YOU SHOULD SEE A DATE AND NINTENDO STAMPED IN WHITE IF YOU DON'T SEE THIS THE GAME IS VERY FAKE.

I HAVE OPENED TWO GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAMES TO SHOW YOU THE POINTS I MENTIONED ABOVE, THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME GAME, ONE IS FAKE AND THE OTHER IS GENUINE.

THIS FIRST PICTURE ABOVE IS A GENUINE HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAME.

I HAVE CIRCLED, IN RED, THE WHITE NINTENDO STAMP WHICH CAN BE SEEN WITHOUT OPENING THE CARTRIDGE. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT POINT ON A GENUINE GAME.

IF YOU ALSO LOOK AT THE STICKER ON THE GAME THERE ARE NO OVERLAPS ON THE WRITING OR SYMBOLS.

THIS OPENED GAME ABOVE IS THE FAKE HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAME.

AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS NO NINTENDO STAMPED ABOVE THE CIRCUIT BOARD CONTACTS, AGAIN THIS CAN ALWAYS BE SEEN WITHOUT OPENING A CARTRIDGE.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE STICKER ON THIS GAME IT IS CLEARLY A FAKE ONE AS ONE OF THE CHARACTERS HEADS HAS BEEN CUT FROM THE IMAGE, NINTENDO WILL NEVER ALLOW THIS.

THIS GAME ALSO HAS NO NINTENDO SEAL STAMP AND HAS NO PUBLISHED DATE.

SOME COUNTERFEIT GAMES CANNOT BE IDENTIFIED BY THE STICKER AS SOME ARE COPIED EXACTLY LIKE THE ORIGINAL.

POINT 3 ABOVE WILL DEFINITELY ENABLE ANYONE TO IDENTIFY A GENUINE GAME FROM A FAKE ONE.

THIS PICTURE SHOWS THE BACK OF THE TWO CARTRIDGES, THE TOP ONE IS THE FAKE.

I HAVE CIRCLED IN RED WHERE YOU SHOULD LOOK FOR POINT 2.

A GENUINE GAME SHOULD HAVE A PERFECTLY ROUNDED CIRCLE THAT'S ALWAYS THE SAME SIZE AS OTHER GENUINE GAMES.

FAKE GAMES USUALLY VARY IN SIZE BUT MOSTLY HAVE SMALLER CIRCLES AND HAVE A ROUGH CUT.

I HOPE THIS GUIDE HELPS YOU WHEN BUYING GAMEBOY ADVANCE GAMES.
